The Sun beat the Chicago Sky on the road in overtime, 80-78, despite shooting 36% and being down by around 10 points for most of the game. They never had a lead until overtime. Tina did very well against Sylvia Fowles, and Mistie Mims surprisingly had a 19-and-10 game, playing 35 minutes with Asjha not in uniform. The Chicago broadcasters said that she was not playing because she needed to rest nagging injuries -- not that she will have much opportunity to do that with the Olympic team in the next month.

Chicago had a chance to win near the end of OT, but a European player committed a travel with 5 seconds left. It appeared to be a call that wouldn't be made in European basketball. I was surprised to see that call at that time for a very borderline infraction.

Renee continued her poor shooting, but she did score in double digits (playing 31 minutes) and hit a crucial 3 in overtime. Kara Lawson had her first poor shooting game of the season, but also made a crucial late 3.

The Sun take a 15-4 record (tied with Minnesota) into the Olympic break, but Asjha's injuries are concerning. She appeared to twist an ankle in the final seconds of the Washington game on Wednesday, but Mike T was quoted in the Courant as saying she was OK after the game. It is some consolation that Mims could substitute so capably for her at least in this one game.

25 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block for Olympian Tina Charles. Pretty much the same numbers that her former roomie put up yesterday.

Mistie Mims looked good with about 13 points a couple of weeks ago here in Washington. She is playing better than I have ever seen her.

The Sun are 7-3 at home....OK for a top level team.
They are 8-1 on the road.....yikes! More experience for the youngsters and a rejuvenated Kara make the dif imo.

They are beating the weak teams consistently. They are either 3-0 or 4-0 vs. Washington. Even when the Sun have a bit of an off-game, the Mystics self destruct.
