Didn't see a thread on this. Liberty came out hard in the first quarter and lead by 11. I sort of thought the Liberty should be one of the top teams in the East given who's on their roster, but it appears that the return of Vaughn and Rogers has given them extra oomph?

Vaugnh is starting Rogers is playing off the bench. Prince not in yet - is she back with the team? Go NY!

Game fairly even since the first quarter - Liberty maintaining a 10 point lead midway thru the 3rd Q. Nurse on fire again with 11 points on 3-3 shooting from beyond the arc. Tina having a great game too.

[COPIED FROM OTHER THREAD]
Bad 1st Quarter for the Sun. They looked slow and disorganized. AT with 2 fouls in 90 seconds has to sit. Miller already playing 11 players. Bench is playing ok. Only Laney has not played. Sun coming back from 13 down. Liberty by 3 @ 5:20 in the 2nd.

Zauhie seems to mess with the flow of NYL. She's always looking to shoot, even if it's not a good shot. She's -13 which is by far the worst +/- on the team. I think they miss Kiah at this point... Sun making a big run...

Jas back and looking sore but ok. I think she banged knees with Boyd.

Looked like Jas had the corner turned for the tie but kicked it to Strick for the win. That's some trust right there. Solid team play, and a great shot.

The Sun did not play well tonight, but managed to scrap out the win. They missed 10 free throws of 24 attempts. The had numerous opportunities to take and stretch the lead. The first quarter was flat out awful.

C'mon home, kids... Minny coming in off a good road win at Washington, hoping we defend the homecourt convincingly, but every game can be rock fight in the W.

Great win for Sun tonight! Shot awful as they did vs Chicago. But big 2nd 1/2 comeback and the shot at the buzzer for the win!
I enjoy watching the Sun play usually. The last 2 games their outside shooting has been awful!
Sorry to see Kiah in a boot but hope it's only 1 game!
They live or die on their passes to shots but when they're on as the 1st 5 games they look awesome! It's like all of them hit or all of them miss!
Nurse impresses for a rookie that's far ahead of the learning curve!

WOW - amazing ending to this game! When they were down by 13 (or more? Can't remember), I kept thinking, They just need to win by one point. Way to deliver, Strick! And Jas, with the great read and pass.

It was good to see them come out with more energy on defense in the second half. Hopefully that's how they start Saturday's game against the Lynx. Would love to see the adrenaline of last night's win carry over.

On a night when the Sun did not shoot particularly well and looked a little disheveled their aggressive front-court rebounding proved to be the difference maker. Overall rebounding edge to the Sun 40 vs. 35 but the real killer was the Sun's 16 offensive rebounds to the Liberty's 6.
I'll take high efficiency second chance shots and put-backs all game long. The athletic Sun simply plays hungry. They will be dangerous all season long.
