At this point:
1. I was very wrong about Washington being a top contender this year with the addition of Dolson and Hartley. I still, though, expect the UConn 2014s to become part of a solid future foundation. A great three point threat would help(next year's draft if the greatest three point shooter in WCBB history(my mother's opinion) is available when Washington picks). However, I am skeptical of loading up on talent from one school. It did not work at Coach Thibault's former job.
2. Chicago had better right the ship quickly. It is much easier to repair small leaks than to bring a sunken ship tot he surface.
3. Phoenix is the real deal. A favorable post season matchup puts them in the final against Atlanta or New York.
4. New York is too good not to make the playoffs. By season's end, it should be Atlanta, New York, Connecticut, and Chicago in the East.
5. Tulsa appears poised to finally break out of the cellar. I would never have believed it would have been accomplished with backcourt selections/play. Courtney Paris has found a system in which she can thrive. she does not have to be an offensive juggernaut in the WNBA, just a threat. And, she always could rebound.
6. Minnesota's regular season record will be of little consequence as long as they make the playoffs and are healthy by season's end. They match up favorably with every team in the league.
7. Who would have believed that Connecticut would be 2nd in the league at the halfway point? I, for one, was already looking ahead to next season.
