We think of Crystal as a 1:1 replacement for Mo, and certainly that's intended. But there are differences: Mo is faster, and Crystal stronger. Mo's blinding speed worked against her until she learned to use it like gears. Crystal's jumper seems more advanced at this stage. So, it's not impossible that Crystal will get more playing time earlier than did Mo but maybe not point guard right away. Early in the season--where, ironically, the schedule is toughest--point might go to Kia or Saniya.

UcMiami's great reflections on Natalie and post-play is key: if Natalie can earn a competitive 25 minutes/game and the offense is thus somewhat rebuilt, it adds massively to a team that might already start Kia, Lou, Gabbie, and Napheesa.

UConn next year has a number of moving parts and the best combinations aren't clear yet. It's a work in progress: a couple of early season losses against top teams and/or a couple of very ugly wins. But come March, look out.

I would like to see Kia Nurse work on finishing her layups. She drives hard to the basket but seems to short arm her shots. She misses and has more shots blocked then necessary. I think she and Lou are the keys for 16/17. I think they each have the chance to be superstars! Collier is not far behind with some strength training. Coaching staff have a lot of work to do but I'm encouraged! Really going to miss Stewie though:(
Partly that's because she does not use her left hand when she drives from the left side. Another thing for her to work on...

Kia's Euro-Step also gets her too far underneath with not enough upward momentum. But her 3 pointer is definitely coming around.

Chong watch films of Rita Williams. Trust in your ability and take advantage of your time on the court. It may not have been the best 3 years but your a senior now with great success and leadership

Geno and the players summer homework assignment is to please the basketball gods enough to speed up the next 6 months. Empty sports space, USA Olympic Basketball, empty space, suddenly Halloween. Go Huskys

Homework assignments for the summer/fall:

Lou—get well
Napheesa—get stronger
Kia—get rested
Gabby—extend range even further
Kyla—watch Tuck videos
Crystal—watch Mo videos
Molly—watch Faris videos
Butler—watch videos of freshman self

Others—practice high fives
Fans--get ready for the worst 4 letter word
I would vote for Butler to learn Tuck's footwork. Butler doesn't appear to have a back to the basket game: she turns most times and shoots a set or jump shot.

I'd like to see all of them hit the weight room hard and watch their diets (not for fat; but for health & stamina). I'd like to see Natalie practice going strong to the hoop against some retired NBA players like Shaq.

That drives me nuts.
I noticed Moriah used her right hand often as well when she drove to her left. I think? she was trying to gain space to avoid getting blocked. It obviously worked more often than not!
