Isn’t is odd to retire in July given the season ended in April and doesn’t that hurt the school in what hiring it can do?
That said, congrats on a very nice career. CMU is always a tough school to play and would have been a great addition to the American Athletic Conference.

She probably was trying to make sure her assistant got promoted. Kind of a less flagrant version of what the Wisconsin men's coach did a few years ago.

That’s why I sort of don’t like it, it’s not her call yet she may have over-exceeded her role by doing this.

And what UNC.Cheat and UCONN men have done in the past... among others.

I can’t think of a any similar situations where this has worked out. It failed miserably when Bob Knight bequeathed the Texas Tech program to his son Pat. It’s not solely on the former coach as the Administration needs to take the bulk of the blame as it clearly misunderstands their role in deferring to a former coach.

Jury may still be out on how well this works out for Wisconsin MBB, but definitely agree with your sentiment.
