A great injustice. imho, of course.

Sue Bird is my all time, ever, greatest Point Guard, person and beauty. At uconn she was the go to player when Uconn needed one.
But she is a thirty something Woman with knees and hips that have been showing the wear of 12 month[s per year basketball at a high level. I'd vote for her if she was 90 years old--but there are some good new kids. But forever there will only be one Sue Bird from Uconn.

Sue's playing well, but her numbers are down because of LJ's absence.

She may be the league's smartest player. I think she would be a great coach, even at UConn.

She is now!

Sue Bird for Seimone, Ivory Latta for EDD just announced.
Happy for Sue but not sure SHE will be happy to make it in that manner.

But will she have the requisite patience ??

Oh well, that guy from Norristown didn't have much at the beginning either and he turned out OK.

:)

I absolutely, positively, definitely, and permanently refuse to believe that Sue Bird is thirty years old! No freakin way!

Patience is overrated, especially where extreme results are concerned

I'm happy Sue Bird is on the ASG roster. It was an SI article about her that got me interested in UCONN basketball, I was living in Los Angeles at the time.

I think she will. Sue is very aware that she is coming to the close of her playing career. Nice for her to play in another all-star game.

IMO- it wouldn't seem right for her not to be in the All-Star game if she is still active.

If the coaches in the WNBA were asked right now who they would like to have playing point guard for them, it would not surprise me at all if most of them would choose Sue Bird. I just think that she still manages a team's offense better than anyone else in the game.Oh, and she certainly can still shoot the ball.

D Robinson does not IMHO seem to me to be "the" PG of the future for Team USA but she sure adds some interesting elements and could cause some real matchup problems for certain Int'l squads. Just an observation. But at the rate she's going, Diggins is going to get a real look as well. This fall's selection process will be fascinating!
