I mean sure she has 20 points, but only 5 assists and 4 turnovers. Not impressive to say the least - I mean she really needs to work on that if she ever wants to be successful...

Sue's assists have been down this year. Not having Lauren Jackson in the lineup makes a difference.

Maya is not shooting well today, and Seimone is out. Seattle plays Minnesota tough and has beaten them twice already.

Atlanta won again, and Tiff shot the ball well again, 6-9. She had 14 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in 33 minutes. She's a major contributor for the Dream.

Maya didn't shoot the ball well, only 4-12, but she had 14 points, 8 boards, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks. Whatever it takes to get the win.

It has always been my contention that assists are more the function of good finishers than good passing.

Apparently Sue has been struggling for 13 seasons. :)

From ESPN.com:

With a second-quarter rebound, Bird became the first player in league history with career totals of at least 4,000 points, 2,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds.

"She's one of the greatest players to ever play in the league when you have records like that," Storm coach Brian Agler said. "She's as good a person as she is a player."

And that's our Sue.

I say be patient with her, give her another ten years to work it out. Then, if she isn't up to par, get her some personal training. :D

Someday she'll be some lucky team's "Coach Bird"!

I disagree.

Although it helps to have "good finishers" some passers have the court vision and imagination to get the assist when not many others could- see Shoni Schimmel.

Shoni Schimmel. You have got to be kidding. Put some mustard on that hot dog. The best pass is the simple pass. If she's such an incredible passer how come Louisville never beat UConn when she was there? That's right. UConn was the better team because they always make the simple pass.
