Sue Bird is leading!!

She's also leading as my favorite TV personality to cover WCBB games on TV. I love her insight as she shares details of the game that most commentators don't know. She can watch the way a play develops and explain how it could have been run more successfully. Seems like many of the commentators just regurgitate the same information that we get to hear during every broadcast.

Now if we could just get Sue to lead all of our young backcourt players to get in the habit of stop & pop jumpers when driving to the hoop.

Not so fast... If you look at her bracket, she has Oregon State beating Baylor and getting to the final four. She also has Tennessee beating Ohio State and then going against South Carolina. She is probably going to lose at least one, if not both, of those picks.

But she got DePaul's upset of Louisville which is pretty impressive - she got only one wrong on her left side so far and St. Johns only cost her the one round. On the right side it looks a bit worse as she had Miami into the S16 so that costs her two rounds while her other three only cost her the first round. And she got TN through to S16 in the upset too.

She has hit on every one of the round of 32 so far with the exception of the Miami upset in round 1 and that includes three upsets - two pretty big ones.

I think the DePaul pick in a public forum was just as much due to her relationship with Doug Bruno (her Olympics assistant coach ) than any additional insight. It is a win/win for her no matter how DePaul did. ;)
