Once they got in...

Seriously took a longggg time to fill it up but they did a nice job and there was more than 2 rows of kids at the end. Kudos.

Student busses were way behind schedule. Last busses are supposed to leave campus 1 hour 30 min before kickoff. Tonight, last round was probably around 30 min before kickoff. Lots of students lined up to attend.

Loved their enthusiasm. Hope the Living on a Prayer singing becomes a tradition.

A little too enthusiastic when uconn was driving that way (I think people should hold up signs that read "Shhhhh" when uconn is on O.) but I can't hold it against them. Thursday night game at an off campus stadium. Great job by them.

Living on a prayer is a Ted's favorite so it would be an easy transition.

Chanting "Lets Go Huskies" on like 3rd and short. Tonight was most likely the first football game most of them have ever been to. Hopefully they come back.

They were a lot of fun tonight and cheered and made noise the entire game. I thought they were excellent and I hope it continues throughout the season.

I will add that a number of fans left early once again. I know it was a tough game to watch at times, but geez just stay till the field goal at the very least.

I thought it was a strong showing from them...standing and nearly full most of the time. Good energy from them...

The stick it in cheer needs work.

Its by far the best student section cheer in the country. Need to perform like it.

STICK IT IN!!! STICK IT IN!!! STICK IT IN!!!

Last night, much like everything low energy in the stadium it was like:

"Stick it in, I guess, if you want, just the tip though".

Needs improvement. Just like the team. Got the whole season to work on it.

But kudos for sure for being there in numbers. Looked great!!

Email Benedict. He'll fix it.

What's his email? Would also like to change the bus ticket policy. Free is great but an inconvenience for students to have to pick up a ticket 24 hours in advance. I think if you show a valid student ID you should be able to walk up to the bus and get on.

You can find it here and I would cc Beth Goetz: UCONNHUSKIES.COM :: University of Connecticut Huskies Official Athletic Site

I'm sure the ticket system is so they can pre-plan busing resources (wheels/personnel) but understand your point.

I believe their is some kind of BY policy against posting email addresses on the board, but you can find it at this link UConn Athletic Dept.

Regarding your idea, I think, minimally it should be a UConn ID and a game ticket. I suspect that the 24 hour requirement is to provide the AD with some notion of the capacity that they will need. It doesn't seem onerous to me, FWIW.

[edit - beat me to it @huskymedic]

Perhaps the "ticket" can be reserved electronically 24 hours prior to the game so the school has the right gauge on demand and the student can show up to the bus, scan his/her ID and get on - their admission to the bus/game is stored electronically and accessed through the student ID. It removes the need to go somewhere physically to get a hard ticket, removes the chance of losing that ticket, and streamlines the process.

One other thing, the frats and sororities were having rush week and I was told that there were many freshman who could not take advantage of the free ticket/bus offer. In the future, it would be good if there was some coordination with the Greek students, even making football part of the rush weekend would have helped attendance even more.

There were a lot of negatives last night but our student sections were definitely not one of them. If it weren't for their energy, we may have lost. I admit that I was a little dopey and not in full throat last night and the game itself made it worse to get excited. They brought the energy. Kudos to our students and band!
