Storm @ Mercury - 8/12/17

I'm noticing KML on the floor more already with the old coach gone. She hit a deep three and on the next play attacked Griner and dished to Stewie who got a layup.

KML 13 minutes, 6 points, 2 assists, no turnovers, but 4 fouls, with 2-1/2 minutes left.

Nice road win for the Storm. They desperately needed a win! Nice to see Griner back.

How 'bout the high scoring games last night:

Sun over Wings 96-88.
Storm over Mercury 98-89
Mystics over Fever 100-80

That final couple of minutes or so from Dee was the worst I've seen her play for awhile. She's had a few games of late turnovers and bad shots lately, hopefully getting it out of the way for a playoff run.

For a "defensive minded coach" Brondello hasn't had many (any?) great defensive teams with the Mercury.

Stewie is just so good. She makes it look so effortless. And I love watching Loyd when she's in her groove.

It really appears to me that Brondello is trying to give her players extra rest in preparation for a playoff run. None of the starters played more that 28 minutes. BG was limited in playing time coming off of her injury but still had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 assists in only 21 minutes of play, even with Seattle double and triple teaming her.

Watch out for Phoenix come playoff time. With the addition of Monique Curry, who has really impressed me since she was traded to Phoenix, the Mercury have a lot of offensive fire power.
