Stonehill Post Game Thread

What was up with the police allowing protesters to black some of the stairs leading up to entrance, which is near the Sportsbook? They should not be allowed to be that close to a venue they were not on the sidewalk. They were actually on the stairs.

Interestingly his 0-2 were the only free throws missed by the team today as they were 17-19. Clingan's only shot 9 free throws total, 4-9, so it's early to be worried about it.

He seems to shoot every attempt short or deep but on-line. I think he is the type of kid that will benefit from an early trip to the stripe and doubt it would be successful to hack him regularly.

Couple of observations:
Lane seems to be more open for back cuts and drives
Depth allows us to press more, Castle with his size makes it tough to pass over.
Clingan at the top, sees the floor and passes well
Stewart will be a stud

Hey, my sister was at the game/"knows" some people and said there was a double technical but didn't know what is was about? I didn't catch anything on TV unless it was somehow related to that one basket that looked like a potential goal tend by SH.

Thought Solo looked more comfortable today. He can't handle at a D1 level right now but he seems to be in the right spot on defense and takes opens shots. Good bench piece.

Double-tech on Clingan and one of their guys for shoves and jawing, I think. No big deal. Just refs nipping things in the bud.

What were they protesting just asking, don’t intend to go down a rabbit hole.

Very happy about the free throw improvement.

Need to see more from Diarra if hes going to be playing important minutes. Hes good defensively but a complete puddle offensively.

Protesting the Sportsbook?

Offense looks fantastic. Starters look like future pros. All the freshman look good. The defense looked good in spurts. Only nit is 67 points is to many to give up to Stonehill.
Spread was 37.5, they won by 40, U/O was 167.5 and total points were 174. So per oddsmakers Stonehill was expected to score 63 points, so seems pretty spot on to what statistics said they would have given up.

To pick nits:

Their guards got to the paint at will, they couldn’t score in the paint but their guards drove at will.
Yeah, that's what you worry about. You know our superior physical gifts will let us recover from mistakes against a team like this. But against better teams?

There were some very vocal Stonehill fans around center court, 2 rows back. I believe there were some words exchanged with some uconn fans a few rows back.

No. He may lead the team in scoring amd average the most minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got another triple double.

But unless Clingan, Castle and Karaban all are injured he won't be the best player.
Might be the most important player. Smart as heck and seasoned. Can calm the team. We are a very young team. The game margin today was a bit misleading we had a bunch of minutes with 3 frosh on the floor and ball movement sputtered. Fabulous foul shootiing. I’d like to see Castle shoot jumpers. Great attacking. the hoop.

Yeah they had to be family with the way they were acting.

Way more fun that way.

Clingan and Stonehill's Louie Semona were hit with double technical fouls midway through the latter half.

"I think that might have been overreaction, on everyone involved: Donovan, the other dude," Hurley said. "We had a really good (officiating) crew, but I thought that could have been, 'Hey guys, stop.' But, he's got the most technicals now."

I'm fine with the techs. It had no impact on the game except to tell these guys to keep it respectful regardless of the score.

The only risk in these game is injuries. The techs kept it from getting chippy.
