I think Geno and Muffett used to be good friends. I remember hearing that they golfed together. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Not sure what happened. The distance was evident before ND jumped conferences.

Sophomore Breanna Stewart was named the national Player of the Year by The Associated Press today. She is just the third sophomore overall to win the award, joining former Oklahoma All-American Courtney Paris (2007) and Maya Moore (2009).


Stewart is the eighth UConn player to be honored by the AP. Rebecca Lobo (1995), Jennifer Rizzotti (1996), Kara Wolters (1997), Sue Bird (2002), Diana Taurasi (2003), Moore and Tina Charles (2009) are the others.


Stewart, who has earned a spot in the Huskies of Honor, was named a first team All-American by The Associated Press Tuesday and was named to the WBCA All-America team earlier today.


Stewart is averaging career-highs of 19.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.8 blocks, 1.6 steals and 30.1 minutes. She leads the Huskies in scoring and blocks and joins Lobo as the only players in team history to record 100 assists (116) and 100 blocks (106) in the same season.

I think she has become a perfect representative for Notre Dame. Just the right combination of arrogance and lack of class.

. Tara is awesome. Great program builder and maintainer, class lady. But yes, I want us to BTHO Stanford.

All other issues aside I was sick to my stomach when I heard about Natalie Achonwa tearing her ACL. I've been there and I feel for her.

I am very surprised that voting was so clear cut - I thought it would be much closer and honestly I think that Chiney and Odyssey deserved more votes. I think Stewart is a deserving POY, I just thought it would be more of a 'debate'.
