She is getting there, though. I've seen a number of times that a player has driven into the lane, only to see that tall. skinny, young lady ready to do a 2 handed block. Alyssa Thomas comes to mind!

Agree on the threes, but not sure dribbling is a Stewie strong suit either. As for defense, Stewie looked pretty imposing last night, even if she needs to get stronger. (Griner has improved her strength but doesn't strike me as having done all she could yet, either.)

I think Breanna's handle is quite good...especially for her size...and will get better. She's much better right now at deciding when and where to put the ball on the floor, and she's not experiencing those slight hesitations that allow the defenses to collapse on her. If she keeps playing aggressively, she can impact any game against any team...it's not about them anymore...and that is sweet, indeed!

For a big guy it definitely is.
Notice how she is often being used to help with the press -- she can dribble up court and her defender is not quick enough to pressure her.

In the ESPN article " This game was a prime example of what she can bring and how great she can be" by Carolyn Doty, talking about Breanna. Frame that for the future, players who play with her expect her to be great, that is the greatest compliment.

Breanna is an impossible matchup for anyone at the PW( 4 ) position especially alongside Steph and KML. Now that her mental block is gone, we are beginning to see just how polished she is as a freshman, especially on the offensive side of the ball. I like the way she has a nose for the ball(rebouds and deflections). Wait til she gets stronger over the summer and learns how to get position. She will be a monster, and Steph and KML will get even better looks!

And when Stewie is a senior, I think she will be as good as EDD. Elena is a 5-year senior. Stewie is a true freshman who is only 18. Time is on Stewie's side.
