-> Stephon Castle was a standout on the Under Armour Next Circuit with the Atlanta Xpress program. The UConn signee first moved into five-star status – from the mid-to-late-20s – in the November of 2022 On3 150 update. His positional size and ability to fill a stat sheet became too much to ignore. The following January update moved Castle firmly into the top ten, where he would stay. The 6-foot-5 McDonald’s All-American averaged 20.2 points. 9.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, logging multiple triple-doubles this season for his Covington (GA) Newton High team. <-

8. SG Stephon Castle
School: Covington (Ga.) Newton
Status: Signed with Connecticut
Scouting Summary “Stephon Castle plays with a great pace. Has good positional size for a wing. Comfortable on the ball, in the half-court. Hunts his spots on the floor, and attacks them. Is strong on the ball, can take a bump, and get to his spots. The shot can get a little flat, but he is able to still affect the game. Very good in passing lanes. Average to above average athlete, but has a toughness about him. Can touch the paint. Attacks rim with purpose.”

Not only has Ross looked more athletic and appears to have a more well-rounded game in his senior year clips, but he also plays with a lot more aggressiveness and confidence this year than he did in the (albeit, limited) film I saw from his junior year. I am really excited about this kid coming to Storrs.

The year Jayden Ross had earned his move to No. 41 in the final update. Listed at 6-foot-7, the UConn signee is a rangy defender. He shot 39.8 percent from three while finishing numerous highlight-reel dunks on the NIBC this season with Long Island (NY) Lutheran.

When looking at projected 2024 NBA drafts, Castle is generally in the top 20 and is a lottery pick in a couple. He and Clingan as on most if not all lists.

Looking like a starter for the defending champs, at least by year end, as they repeat even though they're playing the youngest lineup in NCAA Championship history........................
