I just noticed that after 30 games Uconn is now in record territory for field goal % defense. The Uconn and NCAA record is .300 set by the 2009-10 team. Currently opponents are shooting .299.
The other NCAA and Uconn records on the line:
NCAA - Blocked shots - Baylor 310 -2012 - Uconn on pace for 337. (already broken Uconn single season record of 250)
NCAA - Blocks/game - Jackson St 8.3 2003 Uconn at 8.4 YTD
NCAA - Scoring Margin - Uconn 35.4 2002 Uconn at 37.3 YTD
NCAA - Scoring defense - Uconn 46.2 2010 Uconn at 46.6 YTD
Louisville should prove challenging in terms of the above, but then I though Rutgers would be as well and it turned out that on all but the block numbers Uconn bettered their season average against them on these stats.
What is so great about Uconn is that everyone talks offense and offensive firepower and Uconn is no slouch, but ... They have the three best MOV stats spread across three decades 1995, 2002, 2010, and the top two seasons each in FG% defense and Points Defense. And 5 of the top ten FG% defense seasons and 7 of the top 14.
