God I love that starting five. If only Daniels was in there. Hoping Facey can hold his own and be a contributor and this team will be lethal.

UConn basketball starting lineup for tonight's exhibition game: Boatright, Purvis, Hamilton, Brimah, Facey

I think this is about what most of us were expecting. T-Sam/Cassell probably first off the bench for guards and Nolan/Lubin at the 4 and 5.

Really going out on a limb with those bench predictions. I thought for sure we'd see Lenehan and Amilo get first run at it...

In all seriousness though, agreed that this is what I would have expected. Makes sense to bring Nolan off the bench since he's the only other guy we have that can play the 5. Nice to have 2 guards off the bench that can handle the ball but also have pretty good size.

Curious how far down the bench Calhoun is. Him stepping up this season would be absolutely huge.

Yep, that's the starting five I expected to see for most of the season, perhaps with Lubin instead of Facey down the road depending on how each progresses over the course of the season. I did wonder if we might see T-Sam and/or Omar starting at the start of the season out of deference for their experience, but Purvis has been here already and Omar's recent injury made considering him tonight a non-issue.

That's a final four starting line up if Hamilton is the real deal like they say and Brimah have gotten alit better with experience. All we need out of Facey is just to be a role player because we know what the guards bring

I think most of Omar's minutes this season will be at the 3 because he's the only viable option at that position other than Hamilton.
I think we're also going to play with a 3 guard lineup a lot as well.

Quite frankly, I have been hearing good things about Facey since June. He put in some good work over the summer.

got to be disappointed if you are Calhoun to see Hamilton starting ...feel bad for him. Expecting a much more uptempo team this year so we'll be substituting a lot

Omar is out with an injury.

I'm not going out on a limb. Just re-iterating that they're coming off the bench. Lots speculated either T-Sam or Cassell Jr would start. I wasn't one of them.

Really intrigued to see how Facey does tonight. Also, wishing Omar the best, another injury is the last thing he needed.

Quite frankly, my sources tell me he will average between 2 and 14 points a game.
