Starters need a breather

Not sure what you mean. But all I know is when Geno knows everything because he's an 11 time champion comments are made I bail on the conversation.
Well, go ahead and bail on the conversation. But I don't understand why coach G and CD and their experience, all of the NCAA records (NC, wins, final fours, streaks, etc.) wouldn't be brought up in this conversation. It would be absolutely ridiculous to not bring it up when you are questioning their coaching. If you have been watching UConn women's bball for any amount of time, this will not have been the first time you will have seen this dramatic shortening of the bench in the tournament. This is the norm. I can remember them having a full bench and only playing 6 or 7 players. I've seen this multiple times. Geno will only play the players that he feels confident in. I for one trust the greatest coaching duo in NCAA history. If they win, they will win Geno's way.

FINAL FOUR baby. We don't need no stinkin breather! (LOL)

Well first off I never mentioned any coaches. Much like everyone else I gave an opinion or formula that could be. I'm pretty sure I have a long tenure following this team like most on this board. After watching final eight game I think I made sense when it comes to using your bench. Ijs

Perhaps the fouls made it necessary to sub
And at the end the team had fresh enough legs
Hardly (check out the foul shooting)
but just enough

There is a reason the players are getting tired and worn down also. When the team had a twenty point lead would have been a good time to give someone a rest. Sometimes that practice rule needs to be pushed aside so the starters can get a much needed rest.
I disagree. Standards do not get pushed aside.

Ice and Q gave us some good minutes tonight. Geno's hand may have been forced by the fouls but I have to admit the posters who said they could help were not wrong.
But they weren't "completlely" right saying Geno "needed to do it" while he was winning. Or when they say "Players won't be ready with so few minutes." That's not "completely" right either as evidenced by tonight's performances.

That was my olive branch. Let's just all enjoy the big, big win and take a break from calling each other out and picking fights.

You did not understand my point. In no way does she compare to Maya and Diana. Geno preaches playing time depends on how you practice; but that "rule" does not refer to the stars on the team.

Also, I recall a famous game against Rutgers when "stars" sat.
And remember when Stacey had to come it to hit that three?

No problem. This was my olive branch as well. I didn't say "wrong." I said "not completley right."

As for Ice.... where did the version we saw in the Big East Tourney go? I can see each of them getting 4 minutes a game barring a lopsided score.
I will publicly admit that I was wrong about what Ice and Q are able to contribute at this stage of the tournament.

As Geno said in the post-game presser, when you tell Ice "I don't care how you feel, you've got no choice", she somehow turns into a gamer. And Q put in 14 minutes (!!!) when Ash got in early foul trouble, and she held her own. If we can get THAT from both of them next Friday, the chances of a win vs. Iowa go up dramatically.

Shade played for 38 minutes, and did not score a point......Q could not have done any worse.
Your statement only only covers part of the offensive side , what about the defensive side? Maybe Shade reads the floor better, understands the set plays better, covers the opponents better, dishes out assists better?

After witnessing our girls last night's
performance I hope the "haters" see this team as special even those girls that are a step behind our starters!
They ALL deserve your complete support through out the season!
I can only cringe at the thought that the girls while in their dorms hook up the Bone Yard and see the horrible things some of you post about them!
This program gives us only 110% everyday and they earn our Love and Respect for their efforts!
At the end of the game I was in tears watching their show of complete and utter JOY at getting to the Final Four even with the horrible luck they were given!
Our girls never gave up faith (not like some of the posters here) that they can accomplish great things!
AND THEIR NOT DONE YET!

I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I just wanted to say that I was so proud of Ice and Q. Their contributions were significant and should give them and Geno confidence that they can play in important games. The 2 of them scored a combined 11 pts, and we won that game by 7.
