Start of holiday tournaments (Wed. and Thu., Nov. 27-28)

Puerto Rico ClásicoIowa, Cincinnati, Bucknell, Tulane, Washington, Charlotte, Boston College, Towson, Iona, Howard

It's hard to get excited about games against Iona and Howard, but maybe Iowa will be a good barometer for Washington. They've been winning handily (other than Tulane) but can't take much from it based on level of competition.

Rutgers looking like they will hang on
Losing Alexander was a killer for Vanderbilt. It became largely a war of attrition with all the fouls called, and Rutgers had more depth to withstand the foul trouble.

Miss St's half court defense is trash right now.

If they aren't creating turnovers on inbounds, teams are scoring at will pretty much right now.
I’m surprised they aren’t running more sets to get J Carter open. I don’t think she had any touches in the first quarter other than the offensive rebound.

She has 2 fouls but even before the foul trouble, they really never went to her early

Losing Alexander was a big blow for them. Hopefully she will be okay. Knee injuries these last couple years has been crazy high it seems.

Off topic but I really really like the Haley Frank kid from Missouri. She is going to be a baller these next 4 years. She has done extremely well so far as a true freshmen. Her and Blackwell should be a fun duo for the future.

Wild finish in the Missouri-New Mexico game. UNM surged to a 5-point lead but up by only 1 with under a minute to play now.

Both teams without key players. Jordan Hosey isn't playing for the Lobos (not sure where she is), while Amber Smith exited in 2Q with an injury.

SF only scored 12 combined in Q2 and Q3.

USF is really, really slowing it down. Dribbling about 10 seconds off right as they cross half. MSU's defense got much better, but they haven't had to play long.

Well this game is over now. SF scored three points in the third quarter and didn’t do that until 1:30 left.

They settled down after the first quarter. They have played extremely well as a team since then on both sides of the ball.

Yup they want to shorten the game. They let the clock go to 10 before running any kind of set on offense.

New Mexico outscores Missouri 16-7 in 4Q to steal the win.

Mizzou just couldn't find the bucket in crunch time. Went over 6 minutes scoreless. Ouch. Even worse than South Florida earlier today.

Its going to be a long year for Missouri. I believe their freshmen Blackwell and Franks are studs but losing Cunningham was just too big of a loss. She was what made Missouri last year, she essentially carried that team on her back.

They need those transfers badly right now.

Seton Hall is playing without the injured Shadeen Samuels (preseason Big East POY) and they're just outmanned against Georgia Tech. GT has a very noticeable size advantage in the paint, basically 6'4" and 6'5" players being guarded by 6'0" and 5'11"

People assumed GT would take a big step back after losing Dixon and Balogun, but between Fletcher, Pan and Cubaj, this team has weapons.

Creighton was down 12 in mid-2Q to West Virginia but then caught fire on a 16-0 run behind Jaylyn Agnew, who was 28 points early in 3Q. Creighton up by 7 now.

How did San Francisco score 71 on Stanford?
Totally opposite strategy: run run run. Stanford was running too, so a lot of possessions. Weird that they went with the slowdown against MSST.

Creighton ends up prevailing over W. Virginia but it wasn't because of their free throws. They went 3-9 from the FT line in the last minute of the game to keep things interesting, not to mention a few bad turnovers against the press.

Jaylyn Agnew with a massive POTW-caliber game, 34 points on 13-19 FG (6-11 from 3). Tatum Rembao just missed a triple-double with 19 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds.

MSST 75-36.
Gotta love the interwebs. On the NCAA site, right now (8:35 PM ET) they have the final score as 73-38 with San Francisco winning. Oops.
Wish I could take a screen shot and post it here.

The commentator in the Houston-Syracuse game in Victoria was just beside himself at the start of 3Q about how the score of the game was wrong. Apparently Houston was showing as having only 39 when they should've had 40. Syracuse is starting to open up a lead, regardless.

If it was the same guy from the MSU game he was a trip. I laughed through most of his commentary.

I doubt it, because it's actually the Syracuse radio guy.

How did Mississippi St. only score 75 against San Francisco?

I'm not shading Stanford, I'm just surprised they managed to hang 71 on the #3 team in the nation, yet only scored half of that today.

I think Stanford is a better team than MSU right now. Seems like we have a big game coming up on Saturday provided Stanford gets past Syracuse.

Perhaps you should be watching Cal Baptist play Stanford right now. Stanford looks like an average mid major with Cal Baptist hanging in there with 4:45 mins. left in the half 32-31.

I was just having a bit of fun about the scores of the respective games against San Francisco.

Stanford looks like they haven't put the pieces all together yet. I expect they will be really good this year, but they aren't there yet. Right now their concern is getting past Cal Baptist, never mind Syracuse. Looks like they've been trailing most if not all of the first half.
