Disney just laid down a hunk of cash for Lucas Arts films to the tune of 4.05 billion bucks. Episode 7 in the works for 2015, takes place after Empire Strikes Back and follows Solo and Luke.

So Han spends the entire movie frozen in carbonite? It'd still be better than the Phantom Menace.

I'd sell out for $4B. Anyone who disagrees with me is a liar or a fool.
Star Wars - Awesome for its time.
Empire Strikes Back - lost some luster, so-so.
Return of Jedi - was cheering for the Dark Lord by end of movie, if for nothing else than to wipe out ewoks, which appeared to be included solely for their merchantability.
1 and 2 - completely forgettable. Miscast (Samuel Jackson, Jimmy Smits???, Liam Neeson?) 3 - horrid acting. 4 - horrible script - 5 - weak plot (attempting to explain the "force" with micro-organisms was classic Lucas crap).
In the end, all of the weaknesses of Lucas that were covered by the novelty of the first movie, the (for the time) great effects, the relatively unknown cast, and so on, were exposed violently in the rest of the movies.
That all said, here's what you can expect -
Instead of a poorly written, poorly acted Star Wars episode 7, in which stupid characters (Binks, Ewoks) do heroic things, you're going to get a Hollywood version of it, which means that you're going to get the top stars playing the lead roles, there will be dozens of hackneyed lines copped from the last 60 years of movies, and any artistic pretension that Lucas had will be swapped for commercial interest only, with Han Solo drinking a futuristic Coke out of a floating can and Leah using a space age hair care product.
Note - surely they will pick it up after episode 6 (Return of Jedi), and not after Empire Strikes Back.
Well, that's why Lucas said he was never going to make 7-9. He said that 1-6 were the "tragedy of Darth Vader," and that the story ends with his death. This can't pick up after episode 6 because the rebels are victorious and the story ends.
You do understand that episode 5 did, in fact, pick up after episode 4?This has to pick up after episode 4.

Me thinks this deal is worth WAY more than 4 billion.
Star Wars VII starring Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.
