I saw on ESPN.com that Kayla Pederdon and Temeka Johnson have staph infections. How is this only happening in Tulsa? This happened to Ivory Latta last year, right?

I almost lost my leg, and quite frankly my life, to a staph infection. It is nothing to mess aroind with.

These things (diseases) can form pockets around the country that can last for years. Given that it has happened twice in two years, one would hope that all the medical people and facilities associated with the team are reviewing their sterile procedure and processes. Staph is also one of those infections that can be really tough to control and given the travel, and that athletes tend even in no contact sports to get scratches it does not necessarily originate in Tulsa. It is also one of the deseases that we have exposed so constantly to antibiotics that some strands are really deadly.
