Pac 12 semifinal #2 about to start.
 
This one could be UGLY! 6-3 Stanford 6 minutes into the game, a whole bunch of missed shots and not much else so far.
 
Stanford has been up and down, but I think they win easily. They have lots more talent.
 
Stanford starting to get unstuck on offense. ASU better do likewise if they want to maintain contact. 13-3 'Furd w/ about a minute left in Q1.
 
13-3 after 9 minutes. Can ASU get to 50?? How about 40?

Smith's 3 rattles out at the buzzer. 13-3 after 1. I think my eyes are bleeding, this has not been a pleasant viewing experience so far.

Only a little bit. I don't have SEC Network, although ESPN makes sure to broadcast plenty of their games. Just don't care enough for any of those teams to tune in regularly. Mississippi St. is legit though.
 
Stanford and ASU both have a starter from the state of Wyoming. I bet that doesn't happen very often.


edited--ha, I looked it up, University of Wyoming doesn't have a single player on their roster from within the state. Not exactly talent rich for high school hoops.

22-7 Stanford. Kianna Williams hit a 3 and ASU fouled the player setting a screen. Not in the bonus but Stanford gets the ball back, the bucket counted. Williams hits another jump shot, 24-7.
 
Williams is on fire! Another 3. 27-7. This one is about over, midway thru Q2.
 
ASU has 7 points in 14 minutes. On pace to finish with 20. Toast!

The only issue they are going to have in the future is the travel...the rest of the SEC teams are two time zones away. :rolleyes:

ASU finally showing signs of life, 30-15. Stanford has gone a bit cold.
 
While board with this game, I hopped over to VolNation and read a posters comment that a “source of his at UT athletic Dept” says Holly will resign as coach and take on a different role at UT. I know she has one year left on her current contract and do agree the stress, criticism and inconsistency of the team are taking a toll on her. Virtually all of her team Loss press conferences have her in tears or welling up in tears...
 
32-18 at the half. This game is not a good endorsement for Pac 12 hoops. Williams has been good w/ 13. McPhee is pretty quiet for the 2nd game in a row. Ekmark is getting shut out so far for ASU.

I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Maybe she's coming to realize she's in over her head and not the right person to be leading the Vols program.
 
Actually, it is being postulated that Rueck would be a guy who Tenn wants. Based on our conversations and what else I have read, Scott is driven to build his program at OSU. Would he really leave to go to Tenn?

I'm not an insider, but as far as I know he has his dream job right now. I would really like to think no way he leaves OSU for Tennessee. It's bad enough the Vols keep stealing recruits from the state of Oregon, if they take Rueck they are dead to me.

NW- how often/much is Maya Dodson playing and does she show signs of excellence the way K Williams is as a freshman?

Pretty limited minutes. K Williams improved a bunch during the course of the season. I really didn't see that from Dodson. She seems to have all the potential in the world but she hasn't put it together so far.

They struggle on offense some times. Really need McPhee to assert herself but she's been invisible tonight.

Well tell “Nanny” to pick up the pace like she did against Oregon. No way I want to see a ASU /Oregon Championship game...yuk
