Stanford goes down!

Is it just me... or does it seem that when Cheney gets into trouble... when she has the ball with only a few seconds left on the clock she tries to pass the ball, instead of trying to score.

It is almost like: "Crap there is 5 seconds left, let me pass the ball just in case nothing good happens and then I will not be the one who has the ball in my hands and therefore cannot be blamed".......
I noticed that too. This year was a big developing year for her, she had to really step up and lead when she'd always kind of left that to Nneka her first 2 years. This experience will teach her a lot.

Yet Georgia who by all accounts is a complete under achiever beat them on a neutral (ha ha) court. Things that make ya go HUUUUMMM!
Next to Stanford losing to Georgia, the most surprising thing is that no-one has mentioned what a lousy coach Andy Landers is!

They had an excellent season and went as far as Chiney could carry them. With that they only lost by 2 and they are the only team to beat Baylor.
If Baylor repeats that last statement should make them feel at least a little better. Besides us, their only losses were close game(this and to Cal).

All of a sudden Stanford has hit a run of bad luck.

The loss of Kokenis has really hurt. Then, right after Mikaela Ruef was praised extensively in Sports Illustrated (along with Kelly and ND's Achonwa), up pops the unflattering story about her now being required to pay her way next season, apparently because Tara didn't do her arithmetic when counting scholarships.

One has to wonder if these bumps in the heretofore yellow brick road to Palo Alto will affect recruiting, most especiallywith the youngest of the three Samuelson sisters. Bonnie does only spot duty as a 3-point specialist, Karly is on the way and Katie Lou is being heavily recruited by some excellent schools/teams/programs in all four time zones. Could be interesting and might have a surprise ending.

I'm still in shock.

I watched the whole game, and I still cannot believe it happened.

Shock?
Did you see the PAC champ vs UCLA or the first rd game vs Tulsa? They were decidedly average in those 2 games.

I'm surprised to hear you are shocked. I would have thought you would know how vulnerable Stanford was.

I'm shocked that you're surprised that Phil is shocked. The simple fact that Andy Landers pulled a well managed upset is shocking just by itself.

I had to do a double take when ESPN flashed the score last night. This was a shock.

Maybe Phil was about as "shocked" as that corrupt French gendarme (played by Claude Raines) was in "Casablanca," when he discovered that gambling was actually taking place in Humphrey Bogart's bar. Sort of "mock shocked."

I'm shocked that some of you are shocked and that others are not shocked. This whole thing has made me thirsty. I am going to go get a Shock Top.
