Stanford added as a OOC game next year

Would make sense to play another PAC-12 team while we are at Washington.

Yes, those are who we are playing. Not sure about Texas but people seem to think it picks up again next year. Maybe Warde will give us a good home game?

- Maryland @ Barclays
- Stanford TBD
- 2 of IU/BC/Washington in New York
- @Washington

Borges said in a blog article awhile back that the Wash game on the road is likely not going to happen this year since UConn could play them at the 2K Classic.

Man, for an irrelevant program, UConn seems to be doing pretty good for itself.

Warde rightfully gets his fair share of potshots, but he's going bonzo on UConn bb scheduling.

Well if we are having Washington pushed back a year then I still hope Warde has Washington and Stanford on the same trip.

This is from the early top 25 from ESPN. So this is a very good get for us. Great to get some more footprints out in Cali too

24. Stanford Cardinal: Johnny Dawkins' team was a big tease in 2012-13. Just when it seemed as if the Cardinal were putting everything together, Stanford would lose a game to squelch its momentum. The Cardinal's longest winning streak was three games, which was inexcusable for a program that had won the NIT one season earlier. Stanford should finish with a much better record than the 19-15 mark it posted this season. Every key member of the team returns, including three players (Chasson Randle, Dwight Powell and Josh Huestis) who had double-digit scoring averages. Dawkins might find himself on the hot seat if he can't reach the NCAA tournament with this team.

I've never believed that the new conference was going to hurt our scheduling, at least not in the short term. Our brand is still strong enough to get us invited to the big early season tournaments and it wouldn't surprise me if some of our former conference mates showed up on our schedule in the next couple of years too.

It's possible we could visit Washington, and host Stanford, then the following year visit Stanford. This gives us west coast trips in consecutive years.

Adding a trip to Stanford would make this CA resident VERY happy!!!! We have road tripped twice to see the UConn women @ Stanford in recent years, definitely will make the five hour trip to see the guys!!!! Lets add UCLA and/or San Diego State and I'll really be thrilled!!!!

And, games on the West Coast expose the Huskies program to potential recruits. Seems like Ollie is really working this area so it makes sense to play some road games there.

Ivan Rabb.. Bennie Boatwright.. & Tyler Dorsey to name a few.

Amen! I'm a SF resident -- this is welcome news.

Tournaments can only take one school from a conference - basically meaning they will need at a minimum 3 schools from non power 5 conferences. UConn at the moment would be the top school on anyone's list.

So much Duke in UConn's schedule (as Rothstein would say)

Great to see Uconn Bolster it's OOC sched. Stacked schedule next year, many oppurtunitys to beat ranked opponents. And with our expected returners and recruits we should do just that.

I have never heard about this rule, but if its true, that will help us 10 more times before it hurts us.

All this conference stuff sucks, but our football program sucked anyways. As long as Ollie is as good as he looks like he is, we should be set up very well for the future in basketball regardless of what conference we are in.

If nothing else, AAC membership guarantees UConn getting in 9 times out of 10 for the really good preseason tournaments.

You gotta choose between UNC/Duke/Syracuse for a Maui ACC spot, but you can just take UConn and fret little about missing out on the Tulane Basketball Experience.

UConn will pretty much rotate between Maui and pre-season NIT tournaments. Also likely get invites to CVC, Tip-off classic, Hall of Fame Game, etc. for one-off games. Basically it will be like how Hollywood always goes after Jean Reno when they need a French actor or Ken Watanabe when they need a Japanese dude.
