….and hopefully the only Stanford team that wins this weekend...

The Horns have the home court advantage in their biggest challenge of the season.
Coach Aston need to have her charges primed and ready to put an L on the Number one ranked team in the country.

Hmm. Eric and Andy doing the announcing for the Stanford-Texas game.

OP Swerve: It certainly was dominating.
Now back to WCBB.

UT 22 - 16, end of first quarter.

Texas so far playing their best of the season. However I don’t see it as sustainable because most of their scoring is coming off individual playmaking. But they’re competing well. Completely different from how they came out against Arizona.

Did not expect this. Celeste Taylor is hot and Collier with 7 rebounds (4O) after 1Q.

I see a large group of folks behind the Stanford bench wearing Williams jerseys. Must be her family up from the San Antonio area, about an hour or so away

Horns have the Cardinal - no S - on the ropes!

35-26 at the half.

Texas is just winning all the hustle plays right now. Stanford failed to capitalize when TX came out cold at start of 2Q and Celeste Taylor went to the bench with her 2nd foul. Stanford will need to match fhe energy they’re facing and start winning some of the 50-50 balls.

I am concerned about Stanford depth both for reasons of keeping legs fresh and because Stanford’s depth gives Tara more options for ways to attack Texas. For Texas though I think mental focus and toughness are key. For that, being at home does help.

NC State badly needs Texas to take this game to strengthen our SOS. The teams we have played thus far have, with few exceptions, had disappointing seasons to this point.

The Cardinal getting back in game at Charity stripe.

Cardinal 47 - 46 end of 3rd quarter.

Worth noting that in our third quarter rally, our vaunted frosh contributed a total of 2 points - Fingall, Williams, and the Hulls stepping up. Win or lose, this will be a good eye-opener for our frosh. This is the type of game where we could *really* use Dijonai Carrington - she wills to win harder than any Stanford player since Brittany McPhee graduated.

Texas’ stagnation on offense is catching up to them. It’s like perimeter pass ..: everyone stand and look ... perimeter pass ... stand and look ... dribble dribble ... stand and look ... ugh

Down goes Joyner Holmes with a left knee injury. She was helped to the locker room.
Hope for the best.
