.-.
Did anyone notice that when it comes to Huskies benches, UConn's is longer than Washington's (they played six today)

Here's the game in one type of nutshell. Stanford has 18 more rebounds and takes 19 more 3-pters, but both teams make 9 3-pters. Small edge to Washington in made FGs and FTs.

Great Win for Washington over a superior Stanford team. Stanford's shooting did them in. A learning experience for both teams. Washington's Coach (Neighbors) better set up drills where his team is shooting free throws under pressure situations. Even with the loss Stanford is still a #1 seed.

Last time UW beat a top 5 ranked team, was Stanford in 1990, and Stanford's only loss that year as they went on to the win the NC. :) It's great for the conference that UW is better, same for WSU.

Btw. Stanford used to have a huge rivalry with UW and Coach Chris Goldbrect. There was standing room only at Maples for the UW games and the crowd yelled "Sit Down Chris" every time she got up to complain about a call, which was often.

Probably, but where do they fall in the rankings? Duke should move ahead, Louisville not. What about South Carolina. Both have two losses. Obviously, the UConn loss is a "'better" loss but the loss to Washington is worse than USC's two losses to ranked teams.

One possibility is that Duke moves ahead of Stanford and Louisville, each of whom drop one spot.

Stanford was 85% from the FT line. (17/20) Only one who missed was Chiney. UW was 18-31 from the line. For Stanford, way too many 3 attempts and misses, not enough dribble penetration or Chiney touches. And bad D on UW. Dug themselves too much of a hole. We've been playing poorly, so this should be a good wake up call.

too much season left to worry about rankings. Stanford hosts the regional, so they will be being a 1 or 2 seed, either one doesn't really matter.

Interesting point. One possibility is that Duke plays well enough to be in the mix for a one seed, and someone decides both Stanford and Duke are contenders for either a 1 or a 2 so the right thing to do is send them both to Stanford and then you can practically flip a coin to pick which one is #1.

However, I think Stanford is still solidly a one seed.

Duke plays ND at least one more time, probably two more times and will lose both games. Can't see Stanford losing another game this year. Duke may end up at Stanford, but it will be as a 2 or 3 seed.

I couldn't see Stanford losing to Washington either yet they did.

Too much can happen still. Besides UConn and Notre Dame the last 2 are still open. Stanford, Duke, Louisville, South Carolina, and Baylor likely all still in play.

yep. i was there.

I wasn't but I read about it. That was the second match-up of the season, you won the first 102-62. Your tennis coach told Tara it was a good loss - not good to go to the tournament undefeated. She decided Gould was right, but may not have felt it at the time.

So has anyone pointed out that Stanford has only lost to the Huskies this year?

Then I guess Stanford definitely doesnt want to play Northern Illinois in the NCAA's :p

41 three-pt attempts...???

Whoa. Time to check the records.

.-.
Or Northeastern

There is simply no need to have two Huskies in the Northeast..... Northeastern needs to change to the Schnauzers or Beagles.... if they want to stay with the canine theme.

Not close.

Alabama took 52 in 1995

To be fair, that was a 4ot game. The NCAA also lists this game but I think they made an error, because it has 52 combined.
Not even close, Sacramento State averages 39 3-pt attempts a game and has matched or exceeded 41 attempts 11 times already, and the season's still semi young. Tops for them has been 55, but I'm sure they can get to 60 when things start falling into place for them.

Kelsey Plum is a very nice player. Good win for the Huskies.
I didn't see the game, but I agree about Plum. She impressed in the AA game in NOLA, I believe.
