Staley isn't sitting back.....

That’s fair, and my criticism is not deep. I like Chloe’s game, and she averaged 10 and 8 all season. Those are solid numbers for a starting 4. It’s just that in the loss to UCLA she seems pretty clearly to be a weak point, and in the loss to Texas. And for the record, she did better in the win against Texas, though Lee and Mwenentanda were clearly off their games in that one. And in the first loss to UConn (sorry to bring up a sore spot) she scored a few baskets but began to shrink from open elbow jumpers once the tide had turned.

This is why I said she may not be ‘the rock’ Dawn needs to build that frontline around. That has to be Joyce, but not if she’s playing the 5. Either Chloe plays the 4 next to Joyce or the 3 next to Joyce and some 5. Neither configuration looks optimal to me. She looks like she could shine as a 6th woman to me. She could be a game changer in that role.

And I know this criticism is unfair since I’m cherry picking the 3 toughest games to evaluate Chloe. But there aren’t a lot of losses to choose from last season.
Consistent problem was a frontcourt that could overpower all but about a half-dozen teams, but those half-dozen were the only ones that mattered.

Chloe was the SEC tournament MOP and NCAA regional MOP. People keep wanting to put her on the bench, but se’s a rock
And she’s a calming presence. Bottom line, we looked better when Chloe was on the floor for most of the past season.

Maybe she shouldn’t dominate minutes at the 4/5, but SC runs a lot of action through the high post. That PF position has always essentially been another point guard on the floor. So Dawn looks for players she can trust there and we have a history of steady 4’s used to anchor the team (Welch, Wilson, Herbert-Harrigan, Saxton, Watkins, now Kitts).

But I agree, Joyce needs to be on the floor A LOT and Ayla McDowell is a 3/4 mismatch that while young is VERY talented and will likely earn PT. I don’t think having a lot of talent at the 4 is a bad thing with the way forwards are refereed.

Let’s see how loud Triad is if Fulwiley goes to Duke.

Ain't no M.F. coming to Duke.

There was some guy on Twitter saying all season that she should transfer to Duke. If she can't play for Staley or SC... Can't see her wanting to play for Lawson or Duke.

SC beat Texas 3 times and I'm not sure she had a terrible game in any of them, but there were some games where she could not score in crowded paint.

I think another offseason will help her.

Likely Edwards would do better guarding wings than centers.

I'm not sure that some of the boneyarders realize just how important team unity is to a winning culture. I've watched teams in both men and women's basketball for the past, oh, sixty years or so and many of them have had "stars" but they all had one thing in common. The ones that won national championships had "stars" who played within the goals and aims of the team. DT, Breanna, Stephen, Donavan, not one of them ever won a scoring title. Just championships. And each one was the ultimate team player.

Yeah, rumor is that she is waiting to sign with South Carolina but she is having visa issues that are delaying the announcement.
Yup! She can’t announce until the visa is cleared but she’s pretty much a Gamecock.

Does anybody know why it took five applications before she was approved at Mississippi State?

Without discussing politics, I assume that Immigration and naturalization is a bit short handed at the moment?

Was her visa for only one year? If not, is she having to go through visa approval only because of her intent to transfer rom Starkvegas to Columbia?

Are other student athletes facing these issues - or is she being singled out? Is the US having problems with peaceful Kenya? Coffee tariff?

IDGI.

Obtaining visas to the US is a confusing mess with or without the political climate. From the experience of colleagues and friends of mine, it sometimes comes down to the agreements between countries with respect to immigration.

Look at Nika Muhl 's situation when trying to obtain her work visa last summer. What seems straightforward isn't unfortunately when it comes to immigration.

Two years ago, Aga Makurat arrived at Vandy several weeks late from Poland due to Visa delays in spite of the fact she and her family had been through the process twice with the older sisters. It's just a giant bureaucracy and always has been. Sometimes it works OK, many times it does not.

Tale of the tape--Williams has averaged 2.3 blocks per game over 3 seasons, Okot 1.1 blocks per game in 1 season. Better double check which one is actually a rim protector.
I’m not arguing who the better player is. We have 4 6’2”+ forwards on the roster. We don’t need another F. We need a bigger player to defend other very tall players. I watched her play. She’s got talent. Is she an AA? No, but there aren’t any 6’6” AA available. She’s the type of player WE need for what WE do.

I've been quietly wondering if some international players might start skipping playing in the US.
Yep. Same here. We shall see what develops but with some international players having issues, especially on the men's side of basketball, I think some international players might stay in their home country.

It’s a very drawn out, tiring process for those that are trying to receive the Visa. Let’s just say Immigrant Student Athletes aren’t at the top of the Government’s list when it comes to granting temporary citizenship.
