And the year before they didn’t.It took them time last year to get it going, and then they did.
Sure. I can’t wait until the regular season so I can actually run my victory lapI wouldn't put too much, if anything into these exhibition games.
That was fake.Didn't they lose an exhibition game to UMass Lowell like a week ago by like 20 points?
They gave us by far our toughest game at the end of '24 and they whooped us last season. And the year before they didn’t.
In 24 Yes. And then proceeded to miss the tournament. So they never actually “got going”. Last season they were very good and we were very mid. Also was a terrible matchup. However what I said would do them in, did them in. They couldn’t shoot. This season I’m just not a believer in them being final 4 good. In actuality it’s not a knock. They’re only overrated imo because I truly don’t think they end up being a top 10 team. More like top 20 with Creighton. They gave us by far our toughest game at the end of '24 and they whooped us last season.
The year before, so not last year, that was Pitino's first year there I think. He didn't have a lot of time to make moves, he was hired late in the process if I remember right, and he pretty much had the team that was there when he was hired. Last season he let everyone go except a couple of players and filled in the team with his own player selections in the portal. It took them a while to gel but certainly by mid-season he had a very dangerous team on his hands. This season as everyone knows they will be very tough. We will play them at least twice, and they should be great games. And the year before they didn’t.
The point is how they came together the previous season has nothing to do with this season. Especially when you’re running out a brand new roster every year like St John’s. It’s hit or miss. I think it’s gonna be a miss in terms of this team being “Elite”. And Everyone does not “know” that they’ll be an elite team. I’m stunned by the confidence in declaring this St John’s team great. The year before, so not last year, that was Pitino's first year there I think. Bookmarked. This is going to be brutal to revisit in 5 months.
Bookmarked.
As long as you come back and say I was right.Do what you need to do.
Agreed. Top 20 team. 3 or 4 seed Tourney lock. Bounce out in the sweet 16. Lack of pg bites then in the arse and defense proves to be better in theory than it was in practice. The makeup of this team feels like it could be very mercurial. I feel like we’re going to see some games it clicks and they look like a juggernaut based on sheer talent and then some total duds where the lack of a real PG is just glaringly obvious. Regardless, they will be interesting to watch.
I don't know who says they will be 'great', or 'elite', I just said they will be very tough to play against, so do not go misquoting me or saying other stupid things when replying to my post. How they came together last season might just be the template for how they come together this season with their almost brand new roster. I think the same could be said for almost any college basketball team, that come mid to late January, early February, teams are starting to be consistent with playing their best ball. No need to reply bro.The point is how they came together the previous season has nothing to do with this season. Especially when you’re running out a brand new roster every year like St John’s. When did I quote you? Getting sensitive over the Johnnie’s is quite the development lmao.I don't know who says they will be 'great', or 'elite', I just said they will be very tough to play against, so do not go misquoting me or saying other stupid things when replying to my post.
