- Watched it four times, and to my eye, the foul on Karaban 24 seconds into the game existed only in the mind of that ref.
- Shooting "pretty well" early on gave us a 13 point lead five and a half minutes in.
- As a team, we started this game playing our best ball of the season. In particular, Reed was playing like a man possessed.
- The start of the johnnies' run roughly coincided with Mahaney entering the game. Coincidence?
- Johnnies take a 1 point lead with 2:18 left in the half. Where did that great play from the first 8 minutes go?
- In the first half, it was very evident that McNeeley hadn't played in a month.
- Most telling stat at the half... we turned it over 10 times to St John's 2. We did have a 26 to 12 edge in first half rebounds though.
- Seemed like the score was 42 all for about 8 minutes. That tie was actually "only" 2:40 but St John's was stuck on 42 for 6:30! How did we not take better advantage of the Johnnies scoring draught?
- McNeeley found his shot in the 2nd half. I hoped that would loosen the D on Solo. It didn't.
- Reed rebounding strong, but threw three outlet passes to St. Johns guys.
- Why was Mahaney in there in the 2nd half? It was literally like we're playing 4 on 5.
- Ball Started off on fire. Three 3s and a pair of 2 pointers. But his last bucket was about 12 minutes into the game. Went from automatic to not-a-chance after the TV timeout. Whatever Calimari told his guys to do during the commercial break basically shut Solo down. He did have a couple blocks and dimes in the 2nd half, but couldn't hit a shot.
- Reed and McNeeley both had double doubles, and accounted for 60% (26 of 43) of our boards and 48% (30 of 62) of our points.
