10 losing seasons in 200 years?
ain't nothing wrong with that
Every program has an off year once in a while
One every 20 years is impressive
Wow they were wining basketball games well before Lambert Will invented basketball.

Did you miss the caller that wanted to hire Calhoun?

The best part was Francessas response. He started to say JC was a HOF coach, then stopped himself and said he was bigger than the HOF and called him iconic.
Great props. Said he had nothing more to be done basically

Must have missed that. Only heard 1 or 2 segments

I think one thing that hurts St John's is that playing in MSG doesn't have the luster it once had. In the 60's and 70's (pre-cable) , when you only got to see sports once or twice a week, a lot of the big events were at MSG. Think Frazier-Ali. Now that almost every game and every event is televised, I just don't see 18-19 yo kids being as awed by MSG.

They also don't play at MSG as much anymore...because...they can't fill the place without UConn/Cuse/Duke fans buying tickets, even when they make them buy multi-game packages (shout out to the fans who remember doing this in 2002ish).

God, St John’s is crazy not to hire Pitino. He’d come cheap and all the other candidates are about equivalent to hiring my mom.

Well, there's that and the stain's relatively recent increase in dorms made historical reimbursement packages for fictional apartments more challenging (local players who historically lived with family or friends).

Hoophound bringing it with the everybody, even the TRickster, deserves an nth chance at redemption strategy

He's going to have a show cause applied to him any time now.

Well... people who said that were dumb. Doherty was there 3 years, only had 1 losing season, and they had gone to a Final Four the year before he started coaching. They also had multiple national titles.

St. John's has no titles. Two Final Fours ever, and the last over 30 years ago. It's been two decades since an Elite 8. There have been 10 losing seasons in the last 2 decades.

The difference between this and UNC is the difference between Achilles and a very fast turtle.

Why is Achilles used to represent speed here?

Here's what the "winner" will get:

"The coach who replaces Mullin will have a roster in flux. Leading scorer Shamorie Ponds turned pro after the season ended, and Marvin Clark was a senior. The Red Storm's top recruit, highly touted junior college point guard Cam Mack, recently requested his release from the school, and four-star junior Nate Tabor decommitted in the wake of Mullin's departure. There are no 2019 or 2020 prospects currently committed to St. John's.
Meanwhile, St. John's redshirt junior Justin Simon has signed with an agent and declared for the NBA draft. Simon was one of the best defenders in the country and would have been a top returnee for the next coach. Additionally, sophomore guards Bryan Trimble Jr. and LJ Figueroa have entered their names into the transfer portal."

Hence, emerging reports the red stain may not even leave enough marks to enable reporting an APR. The troubles worsen in Queens.

Jon Scheyer is the latest name being thrown around. Imagine throwing a young coach with no experience into this dumpster fire? lol.
