Nice article in SI -"The case for the Next UConn Dynasty". From the article by Richard Deitsch - "Daily, who has been in Storrs for 27 seasons, summed up the Huskies' mind-set. 'What would winning eight mean?' she said. 'It would mean (we'd) want more' "

Should Sports Illustrated put out a "Commemorative Issue" for the UConn championship, I may have to rely on one of you fellow friends from Connecticut to grab me a copy. We don't ever see such things here in North Carolina

Was there SI coverage of the game other than that article?

M aya was a GREAT player for us, but our all time best was the Gunslinger from Chino who got to the White House 3 times, shoudda been 4.!!!!!!!!!!!:)
D really was something- combination of a great great player with a personality that was/is unreal!

In terms of the magazine the publication deadline meant that they just missed the final so by the next issue it was mostly old news.

Unfortunately, the final misses the deadline, and then the following week was the Masters and Boston Marathon.

DT was the best.......she won without a strong supporting cast.

Not so fast. DT also provided us a GREAT record winning streak of 70 games. And MM rewrote that record and added the men/women ALL college basketball record to boot -- 90.

I suggest it's a tie between the 2 for all time best.

Both D and Maya are part of the great continuing time line of UCWBB dynastic domination. It's all good....and more is coming.
