Just like Football on WRs, UConn gets snubbed again... I refuse to believe that the guys we brought in through the portal will provide even more than at least 20 of those teams on this list... Instead, nothing, nada...

The portal was not critical when you retain
4 starters .
Plus a key sub
We essentially needed a Big Guard
Plus brought in a top class
Hurley’s ability to retain players is amazing in today’s world and makes us hard to compare .

Demary is a big name impact transfer player we hope but who else fits that? What we have are freshman who have talent and returning players this year.
It does irk me to see Pitino’s ugly face first. Can we please beat them 3 times this year?

They are undervaluing the quality of transfers that will be part of our 2nd (and even 3rd) unit. We are essentially 10+ deep and we will wear teams out.

I expect UConn, men and women, to retain many of their players. We aren't the only ones who view it as a bball mecca. Whenever I say i went to UConn it's always the same response "great basketball school".

Our med school is top as well ya know...

MSN still exists?

I've recently seen a few @aol.com and hotmail email addresses.

He does make a great arch villain rival coach doesn't he?

You do realize that we didn't make most of these lists after bringing in Newton, Alleyne, Diarra and Calcaterra after 2021-2022, right? Nor did we make it the next year when we brought in Cam Spencer.

As we all now know, the Newton/Alleyne/Diarra/Calcaterra transfer class was one of the two or three best that year; And Spencer was easily one of the top 5 most valuable transfers in 2023.

So why give a rat's ass about who ranks us where in these ratings? One of the real beautiful things about college basketball is that all these ratings mean nothing when the ball gets thrown up from November through the first weekend in April. And more often than not Hurley and staff have gotten a few huge hits in the transfer portal... including the aforementioned transfers who helped lead directly to us winning back-to-back National Titles. And I would not switch any of those 5 guys mentioned for anyone who transferred to other places in those 2 years. So I am quite happy with all the guys brought in this year, and we have an excellent chance of having another very special year this year, thanks in large part to the transfers we have brought in.

That says it all, to me.

Normally I try to understand these lists in context, try to give benefit of the doubt, find out the criteria for the list and then justify it that way, etc….

Can’t come up with anything for this one lol. We got one big name (Silas, top 15 transfer per 247), one medium name (Malachi, top 70), and then a few bench guys that produced at the lower level. Even though we didn’t need a big transfer class because of our returning core, reading through this list, feels like we should be in the 15-18 range.

I guess they just went with quantity, there are a lot of teams on the back half of the list with 3-5 unranked transfer additions on top of the ranked ones. 247 has us at #34 because we just didn’t get a lot of guys (although looks like they’re missing Koroma and Millender). Understandably these lists don’t consider the returning class or the context of the overall team
