Nelly Korda [USA] takes the gold.
Mone Inami [Japan]...silver
Lydia Ko [New Zealand}...bronze.

Nelly is the real deal. Just 23...ranked #1 in the world. Her older sis [Jessica] is 28...is very good herself.

Talk about an athletic family:
They have a brother who excels in tennis...a pro.
Dad [Peter?] was a well-known tennis pro back in the day,,,,and Mom has a background in long distance running...if memory...uhhh...serves.

The LPGA tour is deeper than ever...a good thing. It lacks American stars overall...doesn't help ratings/money etc.
Nelly can really help the sizzle of the tour.

Jessica was on the USA team...Lexie Thompson and Danielle Kang as well. No team medals...just individual.

Her mom was a tennis player who played in the 1988 Olympics (Graf's Golden Slam year).

My bad...spelling has been corrected.

BTW: USA won the gold in men's golf as well....Xander Schauffele.

US women’s golf has needed an influx of new talent for some time. The Korda sisters are that new talent. While Nelly held on today through a couple weather delays to win the gold with a workmanlike 69, Jessica had the low round of the day, shooting a sizzling 64.
