Can we give a cheer for our 9-win UConn football Huskies, the Fenway Bowl champions? They were up 24-7 over North Carolina before UNC’s meaningless 4th quarter touchdown. Ahem, @triaddukefan , you’re welcome

As someone who has been watching UConn FB for a long time (diligently tuning in for every game in every season, watching beatdown after beatdown) this win felt so, so, SO nice! Could not be happier for the coaches and players. Battled tough all season to get to the best regular season record in over a decade and then absolutely dominated UNC all game — the outcome was never in doubt.

Plus we only had one (IIRC) player sit out the bowl game. Almost every player with their name in the portal still showed up and played their hearts out! You don’t see that very often these days in college football. Class acts.

UConn football is on the rise and the future is bright.

OT Swerve. When I saw that UConn was playing UNC at Fenway, and then the Tar Heels hired Belichick two weeks ago, I just thought there was some irony involved.

This season was very encouraging for UConn FB going into the future! They will now be able to get more players with the talent to keep the team moving up!
It won't be long before Power Conferences will be willing to take a chance on UConn FB and UConn as a whole to get an invite from the Big 12 or possibly the Big 10!
Keep those top recruits coming!

I felt soooo bad for them. All these bowls in nice warm climates and they have to go to.... Boston...in December..... and play in a baseball stadium. :(

It was a good win though. And a pretty decent season.

Yeah, but UConn sold its ticket allotment and had to ask for two more allotments from Fenway. Husky fans showed up in droves and attendance, about 28,000, was 12,000 more than the BC game in the Fenway Bowl the previous year. The crowd was so loud on UNC offensive possessions, it caused 3 false starts. I'll bet Jim Mora was ecstatic to have played in Boston

What was odd was that Boston College played in Yankee Stadium, and CT played in Boston. I guess it's no fun to play in your hometown..

Nobody said Husky fans were bright. (and I was talking about the players anyway)

Where do you live? ;) I rest my case.
