Blink once and somehow they are 10-4 in the BE - hard to imagine that is somehow developing into a quality win.

Their record is deceiving.

9 of their 10 BE wins are against the bottom 6 teams in the league.

Their RPI is only 56.

Yup i made it a point to look at this today because i wanted to know how the heck they were 9-4 going into tonights Pitt game. They didnt really beat anyone but im interested to see how they do in their last 4 games, Cuse, Cincy, WVA are going to be tough games.

They definitely caught a break with some of the scheduling, but 10-4 is 10-4.

I'm beating a dead horse, but they're typical of a team that 'overachieves' in college basketball these days. They're not overly talented, but they're not without talent...but most importantly, they're upperclassmen.

Five of their top six scorers are upperclassmen. They have three seniors playing over 25 minutes a game and two juniors play right around 25 a night.

It is a huge advantage in this day and age.

Gotta give South Florida credit, they're going out their and just winning games. Would be nice to see them make it into the tournament this year.

In addition, Central Florida is also having a pretty strong season as well. USF vs UCF will probably be a nice little rivalry going forward in the NNBE.

They don't have any quality wins. They were blown out by every top BE team they played.

Unless something significant happens, they will go the way of Alabama last year.

Can you imagine....the not too distant future, Saturday night in early March, MSG, BET Finals....UCF vs. USF...

I will now go slit my wrists. Thanks for that image.

The reasons South Florida is doing so well is not only the easy schedule so far but the play of their freshman point guard Anthony Collins. He is really good, quick, strong, can finish well, and has good vision. He is the reason they are doing so well along with their nice overall role players who have been their for 4 years like Gilchrist.

Not to hate, because South Florida has clearly improved, but Id much rather play Nova, Providence, and Pitt twice instead of Seton Hall, ND, and Syracuse.

No, sport, Collins is not why they are succeeding.

He's decent, but unremarkable. Outside of a handle of games, he's been nothing more than an adequate point guard. Not a great shooter, not a great ball-handler, A:T ratio marginal - he'd play behind Boatright here.

Hes good and he can play at UCONN without a doubt. He is a bigger quicker verson of Napier. Watch our game at South Florida and all of their games and you will see he is the key to that team along with Gilchrist who is a big man who can shoot from the perimeter. It doesnt matter really we need to worry about our own team but yea South Florida is looking like a good win especially if they can go 2-2 in their last 4 games they will be in the tournament.

He is a bigger quicker verson of Napier.

Shabazz is listed as 6'1'' 171 lbs
Collins is listed as 6'1'' 180 lbs

He also plays absolutely nothing like Napier. He has taken 12 three pointers all season - Shabazz took 13 three pointers in the Florida State game. The other team doesn't even guard Collins if he's more than 15 feet away from the basket.

He's a nice little player and I guess he's quicker than Napier - but your expert player analysis takes a hit with this comparison.

USF is probably not going to be viewed as a good win. They're 69 in KenPom and 76 in Sagarin (due to the quality of the BE wins that were mentioned above)

Im talking about his level of basketball not that he plays like Napier lol. He plays more like Boatright but he is at a Napier basketball level but with more quickness and better court vision. The kid has skills and is a big reason why they are succeeding. Anyways Im done talking about South Florida right now Im looking forward to tonights game. My player analysis is still spot on . By the way Collins actually is a legit 6'1. No way Napier is more than 6 feet at best just like Boatright is not 6 feet even though he is listed at 6 feet.
