South Florida Series Announced

Always a solid opponent!!!!! Excited to get to see them in my backyard again!

Confirmed 2024-25 Opponents

South Florida (11/10/24)
At South Carolina
At Louisville
North Carolina (Charlotte)
So does this mean we are playing at South Carolina two years in a row?

I’m guessing Geno will bring his clubs for the matchup in Tampa to tee it up with his old golfing buddy.
He may bring the clubs. But I bet the two will definitely have a bottle or two of very good wine and a cigar or two.

BTW - very happy this series has been renewed. I'll have to get tickets. An hour and 15 minute drive for us to Tampa.

Is that North Carolina game against UNC Charlotte (my alma mater) or against UNC Chapel Hill to be played in Charlotte? I'm guessing the latter as UNCC isn't known as having much of a women's basketball team. And if so, is the Dean Dome booked up on that day?

The Tar Heels!!! I’m guessing it’s the Jumpman invitational. They played Michigan last year and Oklahoma this year.

That makes sense. I should have realized from the early Nov date that it would some kind of invitational. Thanks!

They are only playing once each season so it is only two more losses.;)
When it said home and home I thought they played at each other's home that year. Thank you for the correction. I consider you to be one of the better knowledgeable posters on the Yard. GO HUSKIES!!!!

Tickets for the Conn game in Tampa will doubtless be 3 or 4 times the ticket price of
USF's other games.

The one good thing about playing UCF in Orlando was that they didn't change their
ticket prices for UConn.

How about a home and home with the U. of Miami? A trip to the Tampa area is hours long from the " Southern part of Florida".

Jose's team had a pretty good year, including tough loses to a couple of highly ranked teams. They did get knocked out of their tourney early though. Six of his kids come from abroad, so I don't think he's lost his recruiting contacts abroad.

He has done well in Spain. USF has gotten an 8 seed several times which is a likely kiss of death, especially when the 1 seed is UConn. Jose can compete with all the P-5 Fla teams but they rarely schedule USF.
He plays a Euro-style offense, lots of motion and front court players who can shoot from outside. USF really doesn't fit in the AAC where the conference motto is "who needs skill when we have muscle".
