South Florida crushed Ohio State

Not a surprise. Ohio State lost a lot from last years roster.

.-.
I would have liked OSU to have a better team to give our game one some luster. I guess I have to hope USF is for real and can give us some conference competition.

I watched the first half of this game, they both looked like bad D2 teams. Dint let box score or final score make u think otherwise.

The way that USF handled OSU it may look like the first game in which we might play that is competitive will be against Purdue in the Paradise Jam.

Yawn... the real USF probably could have beaten Ohio State too.

I used to enjoy watching SFU, but not during the Jesperson/Laksa years, when they have been overly reliant on two players that, IMHO are talented but one dimensional. So in this case, thankfully, there is no Jesperson because she has moved on and Laksa had a bad night (not her first, for sure), and SFUI was on fire. Good. A strong SFU is great for the league, such as it is.

Depends on who you ask. Once upon a time the San Francisco Dons were a powerhouse in men's hoops. It's been a few years ago though...or decades. Some guy named Bill Russell. I think he was pretty good.
Different sport :) and ancient history at that.

Triad just gets a kick out of trolling South Florida, and so I like to dish it back a little.

And their all American guard Casey Jones

Houston gave 24th ranked CAL a game 80-79 a good strong 1st outing at CAL. I believe they are projected to do well in the conference this season.
LMU beat UCLA in opening game. Doesn't speak well for UCLA's future in this season.

From media reports the clergy that ran U San Francisco folded the game for financial reasons. Oh, that guy mentioned: He was mediocre or absolute amazing (my belief). I loved his commentary once he stopped playing. He originated the phrase: I knew where the ball was going, for a rebound, as it left the shooters hand (not an exact quote, obviously). As many game commentators say: Players get 5 fouls--Russell says NO! they get 4 fouls on 5 they are out--subtle but accurate.

Detroit Mercy is licking their chops.

Yeah, they're all chanting "Get some - get some". :D

I'm hoping UConn comes away from this game with 4 things:
1. A convincing 30+ point win, giving them a confidence boost for the Vanderbilt game going forward.
2. The starters play well like a fine tuned/in sync unit, especially on the defensive end, keeping the Buckeyes under 50 points.
3. The reserves get a second chance to make a first impression, in that they ALL play well, and redeem themselves for the awful showing they made against Vanguard. They win "statistically" across the board during their time on the floor on both ends of the court.
4. No one gets hurt or aggravates a prior injury. Everyone walks off the court healthy and happy (especially Luigi). :D

USF looks to have some really impressive freshman.
Thank you--I'm forever mixing up all of the AAC's florida teams. Sf USF UCF etc--wouldn't it be nice if they had just Florida and Florida St like real states??

We'll be at the USF game tomorrow night. I'll take notes and names on how they look.

Pretty nice wish list.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like Laksa must be an 8th-year senior....? :p

You are on the wrong track with that Casey Jones fellow. He played for the Illinois Central. However, the homophonic K. C. Jones was indeed a Don. ;)

Feels like she's been around forever, but that's cuz she made a pretty big splash her freshman year, which was Courtney Williams's senior year.

Now that I think about it.... South Florida copied the colors from the real USF
