Selland with a huge bucket to stretch the lead to 4. Then Brunelle misses a 3, SDSU gets 1-2 FTs to make the lead 5.

Muffet calls her final timeout.

I have no doubt that Notre Dame will round into form later in the season...but right now, they are struggling.

.-.
Right now I think Anaya Peoples is Notre Dame's best player. She's the most consistent player offensively and she brings a really nice steady temperament. Walker is too streaky, in this game 4-16 and 0-9 from 3. Brunelle is counting the days to when Vaughn can come back so she can return to her position.

This was a pretty ugly game overall. SDSU was 4-25 from 3, and ND was 1-17. What won the game for SDSU was offensive rebounding. Notre Dame just couldn't get a stop in the last 5 minutes because they couldn't get a defensive rebound.

Yeah, such a shame....

So, how long is the shelf life of the SFA meme? I miss the old Plebe...

Eh, pretty much what you would expect from an ND team that starts three freshmen, an offensively challenged Sniezek, has no post player, and brings Cosgrove off the bench.
ND needs Walker and/or Brunelle to make shots. Brunelle is still struggling from range. Walker has had a couple great games but is inconsistent.

Not trying to pile on to Notre Dame, because I really have nothing against them. But is it time to worry about them making the tournament?

Even in a disaster of a season Notre Dame has found something in Peoples and Gilbert. I've said it before, and it'll take another year or two, but they'll be back.

Don't worry. This board has plenty of piler-oners who "worry" every time ND loses a game.

They've played 8 games. They still have 25 games and more than 4 months before selection. They have key players injured and their ceiling is much higher than where they are now. They're playing a tough schedule and they can absorb a lot of losses and still get in.

It just got extended because a certain traitorous poster expressed his allegiance to the Flighty Irish

I think he may have been rooting for them to go 0-3.

No, he wasn't. He just hates USF for some weird reason.

If they end the year with a winning record, they will get an invite. It's how the NCAA works.

I'm a weird Southerner in that I generally have a positive feeling about Notre Dame athletics.

This isn't the difficult part of their schedule. Courtesy of our strange friends from Mississippi, I do know South Carolina had a similar record this time last season (5-4) with losses to Maryland, Baylor, Oregon State, and Drake.

Certainly, they have the coach and pedigree to expect improvement.

So here’s my concern, if ND goes 17-12, I would much prefer a SD, SD St, Drake, FGCU, Buffalo Gonzaga team to get an at large bid (if they don’t Win their conference over this ND team as these types have proven they’re better even if ND ends up with a higher RPI. I have seen enough to NOT want to see that. There will be 5/6 or 7 teams potentially better in the ACC than ND this year if that record happens.

It was time the moment Vaughn sprained her knee, if not before.
