South Carolina women's basketball pauses after positive COVID-19 test; game vs. Georgia postponed

No. 5 South Carolina has paused team activities and postponed its women's basketball game with Georgia on Thursday night. The Gamecocks said a combination of a positive coronavirus test, contact tracing and quarantine led them to halt things until further testing is done. They are scheduled to play at No. 10 Kentucky on Sunday.

This news has already been posted in a couple different thread. Here is the crazy thing that someone needs to explain to me. SC played Alabama on Jan 4th in Alabama. SC returned home and got a positive test and shut things down on Jan 7th. or 3 days later. Alabama went ahead with their game against LSU on the 7th. Shouldn't both teams (SC & LSU) have paused for at least 7 days or until Jan 11th?
