South Carolina Preparing For UConn ...Again

UConn fans may hate me for saying this, but you can take a good intramural boy's team that can play at least as well as UConn. Sorry, but I'm old school, so, until UConn beats a good boy's intramural team, that's my belief.

You might not recall this from a few seasons ago

Who are you to criticize women's basketball's greatest program ever. Probably some lazy, wanna be who couldn't ties his own sneakers or get out of his own way. Your belief is full of . . . I wish I could say it. And so are you. Hate you? No. We wouldn't waste our energy, but your ignorance is laughable. You must have a pathetic life to post a comment like that.

Taken out of context, like you did, then yes you are correct.

But, if you are looking for a team to help prepare SC for UConn, then my suggestion of a boys team makes sense. That is what Zorro asked....
They already play against men in practice, but of course you wouldn't know that because your hatred of women's basketball has blinded you.

I agree. The South Carolina board says this will be the loudest game this UConn team has ever played in which will be a big factor because UConn never plays road games and has never experienced a loud arena before.

We played in 2 big games on the road just last year. Are you forgetting the Notre Dame road game in South Bend, Indiana last year?. That game was sold out, and those folks were very loud.

The Stanford (Maples Pavilion) road game last year in Palo Alto, California. Those folks were loud too. I know because I was sitting right in the middle of them.

The best way to quiet a crowd of any size when you're on the road is to jump on their team early, get them down 8-10 points. Once you get them down, keep them there. The crowd won't have any reason to cheer. They'll be as quiet as that proverbial "church house mouse". :D

If we lose on Saturday it might relieve some of the pressure for Monday's game.

We're playing East Carolina. They're not that good. Their record: 9-13 (3-7).

UConn could rest all of their starters tomorrow and still win this one. This will be little more than a scrimmage. I doubt ECU will break 50 tomorrow. I wish we were playing a more competitive team to get us (more) ready for USC. Although I guess if we're not ready by now, we never will be. Go Huskies.

.-.
Now we can talk about it.

It wasn’t time for UConn before.
Now it’s here.

The Game is on Monday.

It’s one that’s been circled since the deal was reached over two years ago. Staley knew that she had an extremely talented team that would have a great chance to win the national championship. She knew that while scheduling aggressively in the non-conference and having to slog through the 16-game SEC gauntlet would prove her team’s championship mettle, there was one opponent who, if the Gamecocks could beat them, would really show how ready it was to go all the way.

Nothing but a spot in the polls gets decided on Monday. The loser will still have a chance to win something much greater than a regular-season game in April.

But for the next four days, a national spotlight will shine on the program that has defined women’s college basketball the past 15 years, and one that hopes to take its place someday.

Get ready.

UConn Huskies blazing path of dominance as they prepare for Gamecocks
By Sydney Hunte

Let me throw some numbers at you: 44, 40, 42, 48, 16, 10, 44, 24, 46, 10, 62, 60, 39, 16, 40, 55, 55, 53, 64, 43, 58. Give up? That's the margin of victory of the UConn Huskies' 21 games thus far.

Game number 22, against East Carolina, a 9-13 team over all and bearing a 3-7 record in The American, should be just another notch in the belt for Geno Auriemma and his club, a minor annoyance on their way to yet another national title - their fourth straight. You couldn't blame them for looking way ahead to the championship game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on April 5.

But game number 23 will be the one everyone's focused on. If UConn does what it's supposed to do on Sunday and beat the Pirates, they will enter Monday's nationally televised game against South Carolina at the Colonial Life Arena with the 22-0 mark as the Gamecocks.

I wrote a few days back that if the Gamecocks were to defeat the Huskies, not only would it be the biggest...
