South Carolina (5) vs Indiana (17) - 11/28/19

Do these tournaments attract enough fans? I know the UConn fans travel well but what other fanbases do? I guess the mix of winter Vacay+basketball is a pretty good draw?
They play in small gyms. I suspect if the game tickets and sponsors (local chamber of commerce?) cover the minimal operating costs, then booking a couple hundred hotel rooms is a win for the local hospitality/tourist industry.

I agree. The fourth foul does look questionable from that view. However, the ref who made the call had a birds eye view of the play. He must have seen something that I couldn’t see. It would have been weird, if a ref on the other side of the floor made that call, which I have seen more of this year whether it has been a college or professional game.

I’ve seen Indiana play this year. Grace Berger has a motor on her and so does Patberg. Patberg does a good job of running the team.

Softest 5 fouls ive ever seen . Maybe 2 or 3 were legit

Just watched the South Carolina vs. Indiana game on FloHoops. Indiana reminds me a lot of Gonzaga. Play very well as a team, solid rebounders, great spacing, and have some decent shooters. It was experience playing as a team (solid athletes) vs inexperienced team (great athletes). South Carolina has some really talented freshman. HH is really a headcase. Every loose ball she wrestled for with an Indiana player seemed like it was going to end in a shoving match. Not much of a senior leader.

Her five fouls for those who could not watch:

IMO, the fourth foul was the most questionable of the five. I guess there was a little body and forearm, but not enough IMO, but I guess it was being called close-ish.

Terri Moren made it a priority to attack Boston from the outside every time, whether it be her man driving, a ball screen, etc. Gulbe blew by Boston late because she couldn't foul and got a wide open layup.

Boston was definitely being targeted IMO. Maybe two (emphasis on the maybe) of those fouls are called in SEC/ACC play. Game was called very tight.

In the very first "foul" I'm more offended by the flop than the actual foul.. Boston probably grazed her arm (a foul rightfully so) but what happened after was way overboard.

I'm still salty, so I'll be rooting for Baylor to crush Indiana into oblivion tonight.

I'll just say that if none of those foul calls had been made, no one would have blinked an eye.

The one foul that they had close footage of was a reach in foul by definition though you often see something like that let go.

.-.
I don't know if your being completely serious here, but that means that basically any team outside the Massey Top 100 or so is a cupcake based on Mizzou being 95 right now and at the top of the "bottom 30% of the SEC".

Just so we're clear on a cupcake.

I'm guessing the cutoff point is either 100 or 132. 133 being where UT Martin ranks (the highest ranked cupcake we've played).

If the cutoff is 100........ Florida, Ole Miss, and Auburn would be cupcakes. Hmmm.....
