I personally don't give a rat's behind because just like last year this will be settled on the court, but it's pretty hard to understand why someone would change a vote based on SC beating a mediocre Auburn and overrated Mississippi St. My guess would be SEC bias. One slightly positive note... the coaches seem to be catching on to the fact that the SEC has more parity than quality, with UK and MS both falling 3 spots after bad losses. Kentucky's loss to a really bad Mississippi and Mississippi State's loss to an awful Georgia should have dropped them more than 3, but to be honest I'm not sure there are 25 teams good enough to be in the top 25.

I'm thinking it's Q. There's no love lost between UConn and the 'Cuse.

Each coach should have their ballot made public. If they're not at least willing to be transparent, they shouldn't have a vote.

That is a GREAT line that I may borrow at some point. The SEC has more parity than quality. I do totally agree with that. However... "SOMEONE" has to be in the top 25. And someone has to fill out the field of 64 in the NCAA's.

I think most agree that RPI should RIP, but there are other statistical predictors that can be used. I'm NO expert on any of them - I can't even remember all the names of the "good" ones, but the Massey index comes to mind. Tennessee is 34th in that one - just behind SJU and just ahead of Ohio. Also, they have only 5 SEC teams in the top 30. But I think maybe that one is more used to predict scores between teams than actually rank them, but my point is RPI is a joke and should be considered useless.

BTW Massey predicts UCONN over SC 76-62. Seems about right to me...

Its great to be a Huskie. When you are the lead dog every one else has the same view. We are enjoying the scenery and everyone else is looking at doggy butt!

Maybe Rhonda thought she wasn't beaten badly enough....:rolleyes:

I would bet on Quentin Hillsman. He's still smarting on the smackdown Maya gave him...

I'm sure some reporter will ask Geno for his thoughts.

Coaches do pay attention. Remember in 2013 when some coaches voted UConn ahead of Notre Dame after the Irish had just defeated UConn. Muffet had a legitimate beef but I was still surprised when she said she wanted to know who those coaches were!

"I told our players not to comment," McGraw said. "We don't talk about the polls at all. I told them after the UConn game, the polls don't matter, no matter what they say. Nothing matters until the end. But, I did tweet about it. I tweeted that, 'History is written by the victors, unless you're on the women's basketball coaches poll.' But that was a while ago. I'm over it now, but I'll be anxious to find out who voted us lower when they release the information at the end of the season."

I think you are all missing the obvious - this is the beginning of the demise of UCONN Women's Basketball. Geno is obviously past his best and it's just a matter of time before we are languishing in mediocrity just like Tennessee . Our recruiting is in the toilet, and now another coach thinks we are only # 2. The end is nigh!!!!

Someone please talk me down off the ledge.
<sarcasm off>

Whoever did it is an idiot! It is best to keep your mouth shut and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. So the fool that voted for SC will open their mouth soon enough.

I find it shocking the Boneyard would rail against the voter who ranked the Huskies #2 in a mid season poll! This individual is obviously suffering from the insidious brain disease, CRI. A little empathy is needed here, not ridicule:confused:!

CRI. Cranial Rectal Inversion ... aka ... Head up their ass!

I find it more amusing than anything else. Not really burned or bummed about it - people certainly do crazier things than throw a lone vote to SC as the #1 team in the nation. I'm not ridiculing anyone who emphatically expressed how dumb that is, but just pointing out in the grand scheme... meh.

Feb 8, any questions will be answered (if no one loses before then...)

Someone on ESPN reached out to get this vote, so that the game next week can be the "battle of the number ones".

You Boneyard guys say the damnest on point things. More parity than quality. Please never stop.

Maybe some voter thinks SC will beat UConn in which case this voter will look like the second coming of Nostradamus. He/she will be the only voter in WCBB to predict this historical upset. He/she will be interviewed on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, etc and asked to share their prophesies..........nah, most likely just some idiot with an axe to grind.

Well said. I am reminded of a quote from someone in Sports Illustrated many, many years ago, when the NFL was first developing its "any given Sunday" competitiveness: There's a fine line between parity and mediocrity.

Only you, Rocket, have seen and told the painful but inescapable truth; from here on, it is all downhill. The hole has appeared in the dike, the slippery slope has been trod upon, the first rock of the avalanche has started rolling down the mountain, the first small flicker of flame has appeared in the dry forest. In short, to sum it all up in one word;
WE'RE DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!

This is the joke of NCAAW basketball.
Because nothing change except USCr barely win over #15 TA&M by 1 pt and #10 Mississippi St by 6 pts. While UConn has blow-out win over UCF and SMU.

Close. They beat a mediocre Auburn and Mississippi St. last week. Texas A&M was the week before.

that's what I was thinking but I was expecting someone else to mention it

Morgan did get shut down for 2 weeks. Could it be this particular voter thinks SC better than UCONN without Tuck?
