Haha, came to post the exact same thing.*waits for the "Where is he going to go? Europe?" replies*
Nice find. I was one of the people who was concerned that Boat would be hell-bent on leaving after this year and try to do too much on his own in order to show-off for his shot at the NBA. I couldn't have been more wrong; this year he has refined his game remarkably well. He's cut down on turnovers and he's playing a better floor game while under control.
I trust him when the ball is in his hands and when he is at the FT line, which is what you want from your PG. Although his PPG are down, his assist/TO ratio has improved and there's no question in my mind that next year he can capably run the team and I think he will greatly benefit from Bazz not being here.
Nobody would blame you for thinking that way. He was quoted this summer as saying something along the lines of that.
But he's been terrific this year. I've been so so impressed by his ability to let Bazz take the lead and perform in the support role. Really excited for his senior year.
Was going to go with "… the Turkish league????"*waits for the "Where is he going to go? Europe?" replies*
It sounds like Boat wants to be "The Man" next year.
If UConn somehow catches lightening in a bottle (remember 2011), would that change things for Boat?
If Ryan and Deandre return next year's team will be approaching the 2004 level of silly amounts of talent. The cupboard will be full. Just need the front court guys to really hit the weight room.
There's no Emeka Okafor anywhere in sight.
Whatever you guys are smoking, please send some here.
Off with the rose colored glasses guys.
If he's leaving early it's to work for the Home Depot.
At his size, he would need to average high teens to low twenties to even be considered next year.
His handle is not great and when a sizable guy is on him he can't put it on the floor and take it to the hoop. Way too many flaws.
Would you waste a draft pick on him?
KEA was a much, much better player than him and he couldn't stick
Europe is his only chance.
They never hit the weight room anyway and if they possibly do, you don't see the improvement
And how do you see "silly amounts of talent?
"his handle is not great", pretty much the most fallacious comment I've heard on boat ever.
Comment wasn't completely off-base. His dribble does get pretty loose sometimes especially when trying to break the press. He had one turnover towards the end of the Cinci game that was a prime example.
