I've been thinking about starting this one for a while. We've got a bunch of song threads going, so what's one more?

So songs that sound really happy and upbeat...until you actually listen to the lyrics closely and it's a total downer. Or vice versa. But I find the songs still make me feel good despite the lyrics. The relationship trouble thread probably has a fair bit of overlap with this.

I'll get it started with The Mavericks and some rockin' accordion from Flaco Jimenez.

something about the color blue, here's a couple songs that fit with the same title

I thought some of the lyrics sounded kind of ominous in this one, later found out it's about sexual assault.

I posted this one a month or so ago, pointing out the disconnect between the music and lyrics:

This is about as cheery as a suicide song could possibly sound.

Can you blame me for adding this? Poor Gilda blamed for everything? I want to help her! :):):):):)

Sounds real nice, until you find out what it's about.
