OT: Songs That Mention Food and/or Drink

The Dead - Me and My Uncle:

"And I took the horses up to the stall
Went to the barroom, ordered drinks for all"

This one has a couple of verses on food and drink:

Some serving men do eat the very best in meat
Such as cock, goose, capon, and swan
But when lords and ladies dine
They drink strong beer, ale, and wine
That’s some diet for a servant man

Don’t talk about your capons, let’s have some rusty bacon
Aye, and good piece of pickled pork
That’s always in my house, a crust of bread and cheese
That’s some diet for a husband man

Fun fact, this song was originally offered to The Monkeys who turned it down for being too vapid. Don Kirschner was so annoyed that he decided to make a hit out of it using cartoon characters. I've always felt that was an editorial statement about how he viewed The Monkeys.

Does metaphorical food count?

I've read that J.S. Bach's coffeehouse concerts were among the very first public concerts in western musical history. Here's a piece that he performed in the coffeehouse.

One of my absolute favorite food songs. Great vocals from Linda and guitar from Richard.

You are my candy girl ... should have been a hint @CL82
I was too young to pick up the connotation when it first came out, and I havd not thought about it since.

Sugar
Oh, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Honey
Oh, sugar, sugar
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
I just can't believe
The loveliness of loving you
I just can't believe it's true
I just can't believe
The wonder of this feeling, too
I just can't believe it's true
Ah, sugar
Oh, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you

Joni- from her "Court and Spark" album;

And these rocks and these cactus going by
And a bottle of German wine to drink....

It was a favorite of the Disc Jockeys for many a moon. Bouncy little tune. Several years into it I had a eureka moment.

You can't but be happy listening to Toots and the Maytals. This one has lots of references to food.

All the people them dress up in-a white
Fi go eat up Johnson's wedding cake

Geez, now I'm gonna listen to Toots all afternoon in the workshop. And I'll be happy.

From the Grateful Dead:

Half-step, Mississippi uptown toodeloo
Hello, baby, I'm gone, goodbye
Half a cup of rock and rye
Farewell to you old Southern skies
I'm on my way, on my way
