I don't know if Syria has an entry yet but Nano Raies certainly should fill the bill. She escaped the war in Syria to make her way to the US. She was able to make it to Boston without many resources but with her will to succeed and a fine voice. She attended and graduated from The Berklee College of Music. She has been in a number of concerts nationally, and has gained wider notice. Her story follows...

I don't listen to it at all, but K pop has become incredibly popular, don't think any of that has popped up has it?
 
This was an unexpected discovery. A Canadian rock band, redoing one of their songs mostly in Japanese.

 
OK, I got a real treat for you folks who might be interested in a sexy female group that sings in Russian. In the early 2000s the singers in the group were actually Ukrainians and not Russian, a common mistake made by some fans. The group survives to this day..they just keep replacing gals with new, younger singers. I'm sure that over time at least some were Russian nationals as well as Ukrainian. The name of the group was and still is ВИА Гра inside Ukraine. Outside Ukraine it was known as Nu virgos. If you know any Russian, the cyrillic letters ВИА Гра translate into Via gra :) From wikipedia: "Nu Virgos (Ukrainian: ВІА Гра) was the name used to promote the musical group VIA Gra (ВИА Гра) outside of Ukraine and other nearby countries. The name VIA Gra is a triple wordplay: it is an allusion to the drug Viagra, also the first three letters "ВІА" ("VIA") stand for "vocal-instrumental ensemble" in Ukrainian, and "Гра" ("hra") means "game" or "play" in Ukrainian..." Since everyone seems to post only 1 youtube video per reply, I will do the same unless they also have an English version of the same song. Then for clarity I will post the Russian and English versions in the same post. So here goes...I will start with "Stop Stop Stop" which is a song reflecting the work of Sigmund Freud. The first is the Russian version and the second is in English. The 3 gals singing in the English version are hotter than the 3 singing in Russian. The hotter gals are part of the original or near original Ukrainian ensemble. The back and forwards arrows allow you to toggle between the 2 videos. To confuse matters, it appears other videos are linked to these 2, so you might have to pause or stop manually.

Next is Виа Гра (Via gra) singing - Вот такие дела (sounds like "vot ta key dela"). This expression may mean "that's it" or "it is what it is" in Russian, or other related expressions. Good news is that the 3 singers for this song are the same 3 HOT Ukrainians singing in "Stop Stop Stop" that I posted before this. I could not find an English version of the song. This song seems to have a festive mood...so it may be tied to a holiday. By the way, the hot blonde has won several competitions or awards as the most beautiful woman in Russia (but she is still an ethnic, native Ukrainian!)

Виа Гра - Биология​

This song is also by the group Виа Гра (Via gra). The Russian title is Биология (biologiya) which obviously means "biology". Good news is that 2 of the 3 Ukrainian singers are the same hot gals in "vot ta key dela" and "Stop Stop Stop" I posted above. Except for some isolated words, I have no idea what they are saying. Lots of "interesting" dance movements and clothing choices, so I just hope the words are no worse than PG-13. Again, no English version exists or I cannot find one.
 

Виа Гра - Бриллианты​

The 4th song in a row by Виа Гра (Via gra) posted by me. The Russian title "Бриллианты" is pronounced "brillianty". It means both brilliant and "diamonds" which is what is intended. Again, 2 of the 3 singers are the same Ukrainian gals as in the previous 2 videos. ​

My final post by the group Via gra. The song is in Russian, except for the title. These are the same 3 Ukrainian singers as in my first post where they sing "Stop Stop Stop" in English.
 

Виа Гра - ЛМЛ​

Ok, I decided to post a 6th song by Виа Гра (Via gra). The song is in Russian and the title is ЛМЛ (cyrillic letters) translates to L.M.L. in English. I like the melody and words. In this case, I was able to find an English version, so I included it in this same post. One of the 3 singers is the blonde Ukrainian who appears in all 5 previous videos i posted.
