songs about the rambling life

Contrarian...but a cool early Cox Family tune

My goodness, they were practically babies. I didn't know they'd been performing together that long!

The vocals remind me a bit of the Peasall Sisters (got their big break w/ the O Brother... soundtrack).

I'm not even sure if this fits, but it's a fun song. Hey @Bama fan , you probably knew about Rhiannon Giddens being in this group before she went solo, yeah?

Eilen Jewell did a great cover album of really old songs. This made it on the album, but apparently this was before it had even been conceptualized yet. I guess it's more of an anti-rambling song, but there ain't no rules in song threads.

Also from the cover album by Eilen. This one is definitely about ramblin'.

This one has been done by many folks, but hard to beat Emmylou. Can't resist the siren song of the train whistle.

I can't quite make sense of this song, but it's a rollicking good time. Rhett's got a great voice, but the few songs Murry takes over lead on are among my favorites.

I think this one is about a rambler trying to give up on rambling. Eilen one more time. Yes, I'm a big fan.

Here’s a version of Road to Nowhere from David Byrne’s American Utopia on Broadway. I saw it once in January and once in March. Fabulous play.

Just a day or so ago I was watching Molly Tuttle play this. She's amazing and this one has a 'guitar cam' to show her playing in close up detail. Fascinating to watch.
