Songs About Radio

Jack - thanks so much for posting this one. When I started the thread, I had this song in the back of my mind, but I wasn't sure who did it. I figured it might "magically" come to me. Well of course it didn't, but you came to my rescue. I used to hear this Johnny Hartford version a lot out in Colorado in the 70's.
There’s lotsa versions of this song. Here’s another.

Not a song, but an early version of George Carlin's Wonder WINO radio:

“Turning on your transistor”! George Carlin was a marvel. He came from Washington Heights in New York City, not far from where I began my eventful life.

Oh yea, there are indeed - but its the John Hartford version that I used to hear out in the Denver area the most way back then.

You live your life in the songs you hear
On the rock n' roll radio

When your daddy taps on your door
Angie girl, are you alright?
Tell the radio goodnight

ok, this is a great tune. weird, creepy, yet beautiful sounds. i like that lady's voice, and enjoy her hit tunes. that 'delta dawn' is also a fav. mom's sez that the 'i am woman' thing was a pretty big, and important, matzoh ball at that time. good tune.
i thought that the 21 pilots tune might be a bit much for here, with all the silly modern angst in it, but when u put this one up - no way, not even close. angie baby hits the listener kinda like that rosemary's baby flic. scary.

and speaking of old school, absolutely epic voices, ...
(first line gets me in the thread)
still being played on the radio in korea (both!), china, phillipines, singapore, japan, dubai, thailand, ...

fuhghettabootit... epic pipes.

'how much you pay for
what you used to get for free...'

'well some folks said you got to hang him so high,
cuz you just can't do what he did.
there's some things you just can't put
in the minds of those kids.

there goes the last dj,
who plays what he wants to play,
and says what he wants to say,
heh, hey, hey.'

'i was caller number five on the radio station,
won a four day, three night, beach vacation...'

'now, she was sure real quick to up and apologize,
when she heard about my newfound luck on that fm dial.'

Radio Baby by Тина Кароль (Tina Karol). She is Ukrainian but sings this song in Russian (boooo).
OK, I would be moderately surprised if any folks on here heard this song before.

A Steely Dan classic about someone looking for another survivor with his ham radio.
