I appreciate your attempt at humor, but you've been riding that joke for several days across several threads. Sorry brother, it's just not landing. There are better ways to get some cheap 'likes' around here...

I'm not looking for a cheap "like" at all. This process will play out the way it is going to play out regardless of any of us fans on here. I believe, and have for a while now, that Turner Gill will be the next head coach here. I just have a gut feeling that it will happen. Not trying to get people all riled up but it's a feeling that I have. I sincerely hope I'm 100% wrong.

I don't know why we'd want a guy who is 104-48 career, had 1 losing season and who's turned around losing programs in his last 2 stops when we could have someone splashy.

I liked your post. Can't believe how much people on here care about making a "splash". Lane Kiffin made a splash. I just care about getting a damn good coach that wins games. Don't give a s h i what the media or fans think about name recognition.

Some recent "splash" hires:

Charlie Weis
Will Muschamp

Some non-"splash" hires:
Chip Kelly
James Franklin
Hugh Freeze
David Cutcliffe

that's my point. this guy has been a very successful football coach. He has turned programs around. He's done it in different parts of the country. He has wide open offenses that score points and his teams play good defense too. He has beaten BCS level programs each of the last 3 years. I'll take that over splashy any day.

I'd call Franklin a splash hire -- in fact, I would have jumped into the Connecticut River with excitement had we hired him instead of Pasqualoni in 2011.

I don't think Charlie Weis was ever a "splash" hire.
