Good Morning Yarders and Friends.

A little surprised so few fans Approx 6,000. The uniforms are UGH---ly. We need to stay with our Blue White and Red. All American colors for our American Dream Team. At half time it was great to see all the Boneyarders again. A few new faces and it was great to see all of you.

UConn didn't look like the team they were last season. There seemed to be a lot of jitters to start the game. The team chemistry was off a little and I attribute that to our first game and all the new faces. The underclassman seemed to be finding their way all except Gabby. If they didnt announce it was Gabby shooting her foul shots then you wouldn't have known it was Gabby. She looked like a different player. Polished confident and explosive. She will have her say on the court this season. She puts up numbers in bunches and very quickly. Its gonna be fun to watch her develop even more this season. She is going to be a different type player. When I watched her last season and tonite I realized why some kids choose UConn and others go elsewhere. Gabby wants to be a star at UConn and is willing to compete at the highest level with the best of the best. She has no fears about who shes playing with or against she is only concerned about what she needs to do. I was so impressed with Gabby I cant put it into words. One word GREAT.

Once UConn got going they got going. The hustle and diving for loose balls included everybody. If your expectations were high you might have been disappointed and that is to be expected in an exhibition game. Sunday we should see improvement.

Some thoughts on starters from last season.

MoJeff was un-be-livable. Her drives to the basket were highlite films. You cant put it into words you just wait for the unexpected.
Kia Nurse is a whole different player. Confident poised and a leader and shes only a soph. It is hard to believe IMO Mojeff and Kia are AA's and will carry this team along way with their defense and leadership.
Stewie is a cut above everybody else. Playing within this lineup and with Genos team concept it will be almost impossible to stop her from scoring.
I was concerned to see Tuck sitting. I hope there are no reoccurances with her injury. She is great and we need her. With that said we scored 95 points. Kinda makes you realize how potent this team is.
Our starters overall, a lot of improvement and they are going to be really really really good.

Im looking forward to Sundays game and hoping to see Saniya. She will play a huge part at the ball handling position this season. If you thought other UConn teams were talented wait to you see this one especially when Butler Chong and Boykin are healthy. This is gonna be a very special season as long as we are healthy.

The biggest difference with this team and opponents imo. Geno had a dream a goal an expectation and a plan. We are seeing it now. Why other coaches have a difficult time competing with UConn goes back to and ole saying I learned years ago. People don't play to fail they fail to plan.

Hope to see you all on Sunday.

Go Huskies.

Well, Moriah tempted all fates and mojo by wearing her hair down...

And it didn't matter at all,

Go ahead Mo, dye your hair like Stef... I know you'e dying to do that.
See if I care.

Frankly, when I saw the hair down I thought us doomed. Tony, I'm shocked by your level of pessimism. :D

TonyC, one key sentence you stated................."This is gonna be a very special season as long as we are healthy." I couldn't agree more. HEALTH is the most dangerous opponent on our schedule. If we can somehow avoid him I think we could be one special and historic team.

I still have my fingers crossed for Morgan that she will be ok , now , and for the long term.
