During the halftime show for UNC/ND, picked UConn outside the top 10 that could make a deep run in the tournament. Gave Shabazz some serious props and called us the most dynamic backcourt in the country. Rece Davis then followed it up by calling us a blue-blood. Always nice to see some positive pub.

Was happy to hear Rece Davis call us "traditional blue bloods" was the exact phrase used. As much as he's great on TV, he seems like the kind of guy thats always about Kentucky, UNC, Dook etc......I figure if he thinks were traditional blue bloods, (which we are) we must be!

I think that 3 titles and 4 final fours in 15 years, a slew of conference championships, a womens bball program thats second to none, two hall of fame coaches and several NBA lottery picks should remove anyone's doubt of our place in college basketball lore.

Show me a program that has done more, you can't, cause there are none.

Don't know if you heard it but Rece said we were from a non major conference so that was a bit of a slap because we have more potential upcoming bids than some majors, roght?

When a palmetto bug enters my home it can claim all it wants that it is special cause it's in my home. But in the end it will always be a c*ckroach. BC could claim it's special because they are in a so called P5 conference, but in the end they will always be a c*ckroach.

Anybody else think when they opened this thread Jay was hugging someone?

I'm a big Rece fan. He's always had a spot for UConn and Jim Calhoun in his heart. I remember when Calhoun was getting from the national media about his "not a dime back" rant. Rece was visibly pissed on-air once and a rant of his own saying something to the effect that Jimmy C has done so much for this state and for UConn and that the talking heads don't see how much money and time he donates to local charities, etc. He deserves his salary, etc.

I guess the only thing that took me back was him referring to the AAC as not a major conference. Is the A10 a major? The BE? How bout the SEC for hoops?

the aac is not a p5 conference and with ville going to the acc, it further diminishes the conference. for the time being we will be a very big fish in a small pond. we just have to keep wining and keep scheduling quality opponents

He's always had UConn love. I'll never forget in 2011 they had all the ESPN analysis predict the Final Four, he was one of two who had us.

Bilas was the second.....he rode us that whole tourney and we rewarded him

If you love Jay Bilas for nothing else, love him for this. He damn well may be Makers Muppet.

I remember there being a lot of talk about UConn being a blue blood after we won it all in 2011. The numbers stacked up for us to be in the group and many people said we were a blue blood.

Jim Calhoun's blood was never red. The media found that fact out after the doctors discovered it when he had prostrate cancer.

Unbeknownst to the media he had been continually transfusing all blood to his offspring. Since that day we were officially categorized as blue blood.

Boneyarders knew this 'fact' for years.

So just remember the same blood that runs through Calhoun runs through Ollie.
